13 weeks!

How Far Along: 13 weeks

Size of Baby: A peach! That sounds so huge to me! When we first found out about the pregnancy, this little one was the size of a poppyseed!!

Total Weight Gain: According to the first time I weighed myself on my bathroom scale, I’m still down a few pounds. The first time I weighed myself I may have been wearing a sweatshirt, and since then I’ve been toning down on the clothing layers to weigh myself. So I’ve probably gained about 1-2 pds total. I will find out at my doctors appointment next week what their scale says!

Maternity Clothes: Still fitting into all my regular clothes, but my PJs are by far the most comfortable!

Gender: No idea yet! And I’m actually not sure when we will find out.

Movement: None. I cannot wait to feel this little one kick and flip!

Sleep: I’m not large yet, and I am still able to sleep in all my regular sleeping positions, but for some reason it is really hard for me to get comfortable. Between being sore from a workout, just being sore from growing a human, and having a changing body…it has been surprisingly hard to get comfortable at night! However, once I fall asleep, I have no trouble staying asleep.

What I miss: I miss having my family nearby. It’s been a difficult 1st trimester with only Theo to help me through.

Food Cravings: Fruit. Veggies. Pasta and Rice. Thai food. Eggs.

Food Aversions: Ranch dressing. The smell of garlic salt (its fine once it gets INTO the food). Meat.

Symptoms: Tired, starting to show, an emotional train wreck, pulling/stretching/weight in my abdominal area. It’s crazy how much I can “feel” a baby growing down there. I don’t feel the baby itself yet, but I feel my body changing so dramatically down there. Aches and pains, and of course some nausea.

Worst Moment This Week: Yesterday. I woke up, and did several chores, but then looked at the clock and realized I just had 40 minutes to shower, eat lunch and get to work. I showered and then made a healthy, nutritious delicious lunch. I was already late for work. I put my lunch on the table in a container and ran to grab something from the back room. Moose climbed on the table, and spilled my lunch ALL. OVER. THE. FLOOR. Remember how I was already late for work? Well, I didn’t have time to make anything else. And a hungry pregnant woman is not a good mix when working with children. So I get to work and figure Ill just grab some lunch there, but the lunch being served at work is….cold sandwiches with lunch meat. First, I dislike that lunch, and second, I can’t eat it CAUSE I’M PREGNANT! Then my kids, who are intelligent little creatures, picked up that I was a little off my rocker, and they used every opportunity to frustrate me or disobey me. Of course, that probably didn’t actually happen, but it sure felt like it to the hungry, grumpy, emotional-train-wreck pregnant woman. I finally got home, and of course it’s a Theo work day, meaning I am entirely alone. Some days it doesn’t bother me at all, and I usually just get my groove on in the kitchen, but this time I just put my PJs on and crawled under the covers for a good long cry. I was just going to go to bed (at 6:30), but the doorbell rang and Theo had ordered me a pizza! Well, that was a good ending to a horrible day, but I don’t want another day like that any time soon. And after typing that all out, I look at it and think, “what was the big deal anyways?” What was I really crying about? I have no clue…

Best Moment This Week: Starting to really see myself show! Other people seem (that know) seem to think I’m showing at well.

I also have completed the first trimester! I’ve heard that I’m technically not in the 2nd trimester until closer to 14 weeks, but I’m close enough. That was the longest trimester EVERRR. I hope the next two go faster.

What I’m Looking Forward To: Warm weather. My parents coming when the baby arrives! Thrifting to find some adorable things for this little one! Having a baby bump!

Exercise this week: Finally, finally, finally I have been working out regularly! I don’t have a gym membership and its way too cold to go outside, so I’ve been seriously lacking in the workout department. However, I saw an add for Daily Burn and a free 30 day trial, so I went ahead and signed up. It is absolutely FANTASTIC. I can pick and choose what workout I want to do, and almost all of the workouts can be done with little to no equipment. I have been doing a cardio every other day, and a prenatal yoga every other day. I’ve also been stretching every day, and although I am super sore from the cardio, I am so glad that I have been able to start (and stick with) a workout routine.
