I can’t believe it is already February, ya’ll! When did that happen….and can Spring just be here already?
The past few days I’ve been spending a lot of time and energy on getting this whole blogging thing going. I have been blogging for several years, but since I switched over to self-hosting, I know that I need to get serious about my blogging if I want to make it worth it. That being said, I have been working on a calendar of posts, and one thing that I would really like to implement is weekly/monthly posts that you can always count on from me.
One thing that I am learning from following professional bloggers is that they always work ahead. A post is not often written on the blog and published immediately. Instead, posts are written in a word document and updated when scheduled. This is extremely helpful for several reasons. One, I can work ahead, and have several blog posts ready to go if I get writer’s blog or need to take a week off for whatever reason or another. Second, it helps get me in a routine of taking pictures, and planning what to write without actually having to publish immediately. Third, it gives me time to correct, revise, edit, add to, and pray over posts that I may be struggling to write. The plans are not set in stone, but it will really help me to have a set-up like this. I have printed out a calendar for the whole year, and am working on my writing my blogging plans out.
On Sundays, I will post a weekly wrap-up, mostly just showing pictures of what we did throughout the week.
Mondays will be my “inspiration” days, with monthly goals on the first Monday of each month (that’s today!). I don’t plan on posting every Monday, but when I am posting updates about our fast, those will appear on Mondays.
Wednesdays will be my blog promotional days, with reviews, guest bloggers, sponsor posts, and giveaways. Again, I will not be posting every Wednesday, but if I have something in that nature, it will appear on Wednesdays.
On Thursdays, I will continue to do my weekly pregnancy updates, and when the baby arrives I will also continue posting updates on that on Thursdays.
Fridays are going to be something new: Recipes! I would like to take a recipe that I’ve cooked throughout the week and share it on the blog. And let’s be honest here: the recipe won’t always be a success story. I will also share recipes that we threw out (and ate popcorn/cereal instead), and recipes that are our simple “go-to” meals.
Phew! As you may notice, that leaves Tuesdays and Saturdays as free days, and those days may or may not have a post about who-knows-what (this is real life after all!).

Moose weighs 15 pds, so Theo decided to bench press him. About 30 seconds after this picture was taken, there was a little accident that involved very heavy weights, a very squishy cat, and one more life out of 9 gone down the drain. Whoops.
