Happy New Year!
I hope that your year is off to a great start…and if you live in the US, I hope that you are staying warm! Brrrrr, it’s cold outside!
And if you live in Niger…I’m incredibly homesick today!
It says it’s -2, but then it says it FEELS like -22 with the wind chill. I’m not going out today!
So, today’s question is about New Year’s Goals. I am a sucker for New Years resolutions. There is no difference in the days, except that one ended in a 4, and the next ended in a 5…but for me, it is a reminder to start fresh, to look back on the past 12 months and see what I did well and what I need to improve on.
All that being said….Thursdays Question is:
What is your WORD for 2015? If you could pick one word to describe your focus or your goals, what would that word be?
My word is ROUTINE. I know that sounds silly. It doesn’t sound lofty or goal-oriented at all. But the past five months have held SO.MUCH change (hosting family, buying a house, moving, traveling, being involved in a wedding….and having a baby!) that I’m about to go crazy without a schedule. I have other goals for the year, such as logging a certain amount of miles, working on our house renovation, finding a way to make an income from home, etc. But I think that the key to making all those things happen this next year is a routine. When I have a routine then I can deviate and plan more things, or add more things to my schedule. But when it’s just a chaotic mess, I find that I am much less focused on serving Theo, raising Tera, serving in the church, keeping myself healthy and making our house into a home.
So what about you….what is your WORD for 2015? If you don’t have one yet, feel free to brainstorm one, and share it! (As always…either here in the comments, on your own blog or on the post on my facebook page).
