10 months old! Can you believe it? I’m a little behind on this update, so I will make it short and sweet. Of course, when I talk about my Tera Evelynne it’s never usually short! I could go on all day!
Weight/Length: I honestly don’t know how much she weighs, and I don’t really know about her length anymore. How is that for an answer? Her next appointment is around her first birthday! She is still remarkably tiny in every way- a little, petite thing!
Eating: We have had some big changes in this area the past month! We have abandoned baby food entirely in favor of table food. This girl WILL NOT eat if someone is feeding her. If she is feeding herself? No problem. So I have to get creative in what I make for her to eat…it has to be something that she can pick up alllll by herself.
Tera is officially weaned, and it makes me a little bit sad, but Tera hasn’t even noticed that the breastmilk is gone! For the next baby, I’d really like to make my goal of one year, but I’m not going to beat myself up over 9.5 months of breastfeeding.
Sleeping: Champ! She is a GREAT sleeper, now. She takes 1.5-2 hour naps in the morning and the afternoon and easily sleeps through the night. She does wake up frequently when she loses her pacifier or something like that, but we never have to be up in the night with her, which is a huge blessing and makes a huge difference in my daily life!
Clothing/Diapers: Tera fits well into her 6 month clothes, and will probably be moving up to 9 month clothes soon! ooooh, there is something in me that LOVES packing up her clothes and getting out all new ones. I wish my wardrobe did that every 3ish months!
Personality: Everyone who spends time with Tera says that she is “such a good baby”. This child is laid-back, but strong-willed. She loves being outside and in public, she loves playing with her toys and being busy, busy, busy. I love watching her personality explode.
Loves:
- Outside!
- Peek-a-boo
- Moose
- Daddy
- Bigger kids playing
- Food!!!
- Reading books
- Any kind of animals
Dislikes:
- Diaper changes
- When we say “no-no” and give her spanks! Oh man, that face KILLS me. And yes, we spank our 10 month old. She knows what she is doing, and so she gets disciplined. I’m sure I’ll write more on that later.
New Developments:
- Climbing up the stairs by herself
- Cruising on the furniture
- Saying words, although I’m still not convinced she knows what they mean (da-da, ya)
- Entirely feeding herself
- Still no teeth…
And here is how we kept her entertained during this photo shoot: a doll and a rattle elephant on a string.
grandma copied every picture! I love how you got her to show so many expressions by dangling toys above her! Great pictures!!
