14 Weeks

How Far Along: 14 weeks

Size of Baby: A lemon? If you ask me, that sounds smaller than last week’s peach…

Total Weight Gain: I hopped on the scale at the doctor’s office today, and I have gained about 4 pounds! That puts me right on track (just a little ahead, but not a problem) with the weight gain.

Maternity Clothes: I’m carrying fairly high, so I can still button up my pants without a problem. My shirts are getting tighter in all areas. I borrowed some belly bands, but haven’t had to use them yet. PJs and leggings are still the most comfortable thing, and when I’m at home, that is pretty much all I wear.

Gender: We will find out in about 6 weeks (on March 25, to be exact!). We are planning up a special gender reveal that involves my parents, but this plan is still in the works.

Movement: I. can’t. wait!

Sleep: I’m exhausted allllll day, but as soon as my head hits the pillow, I’m wide awake. I do a lot of tossing and turning to get comfortable, but then I sleep through the night, usually waking up once to go to the bathroom.

What I miss: I miss having a fully functioning body, that isn’t ruled by a tiny human. Half the time I love pregnancy, half the time I really don’t enjoy it, but either way there is a little one who is growing, using my body. This wreaks havoc on so many areas of my body, and for someone who has always been athletic and in shape, this is just a huge adjustment for me.  I really miss drinking coke without “guilt”. I know a little is ok, so I usually drink about one glass a week, but I try to limit myself for the sake of this little one!

Food Cravings: Fruit. Veggies. Pasta and Rice. Thai food. Eggs. I have discovered that grocery shopping while pregnant is like grocery shopping while hungry. Buy ALL the food, because the craving might strike! =/

Food Aversions: Smells of certain foods really get to me, but I’m not avoiding anything.

Symptoms: EXHAUSTED (even more than during the first tri!), feeling uncomfortable and heavy, a baby bump!, acne like nobody’s business, an emotional wreck (again, even more than in the first tri!), some difficulty sleeping….yet enjoying this MIRACLE that is happening inside my body.

Worst Moment This Week: Does it get redundant if I keep saying the cold? I feel like I mention how much I hate the cold in every blog post I write…but I’m going to say it again…the worst part of my week is how ridiculously COLD it is.

Best Moment This Week: Having a snow day! and going to the doctors today and hearing that sweet, precious heartbeat.

What I’m Looking Forward To: Finding out the gender! Buying some baby things…you know…everything that I have to look forward to!

Exercise this week: Daily burn is now my thing. Guys, this program really is incredible. It’s nice because I can do any workout I want for the day, and I can do it right in my living room. Theo scoffed at me for a while, but yesterday I asked him to pick a workout for us to do, and today we are BOTH feeling it!. I also really like it because I can alternate cardio/yoga, and choose the difficulty level. And for $10 a month, we decided that it’s totally worth it.
