3 Things

It’s been awhile since I’ve been able to just sit down and write. It’s a season, but man…I’m exhausted. Between Theo’s schedule, having three kids of varying ages, this long and frigid winter and dealing with all things foster care, I’ve been struggling with the energy and the desire to even want to write. This morning I realized it’s been forever since I’ve even posted a life update or anything personal at all. I’ve seen a few other blogger do this, and I thought it would be a fun way to write something out and enjoy it. So, here are three things about each of the members of my family that I would want to be able to look back on.

Theo

  1. Theo loves his job. He loves everything about it, and he excels at it. This is what God has created him to do, and I LOVE being able to see him loving something so much. I also may be biased…but I think he’s pretty good at his job.

2. Theo is also the best Dad. I know everyone says that, but I really, truly believe that there could not be a better father for my children out there. He spends time with them on his days off and he treasures them like no one else could.

3. Theo is very business minded and he never resorts to hobbies like collecting coins or playing video games. Instead, his hobbies are always researching the latest and greatest way to start a business, be an entrepreneur or invest his money. He’s incredibly wise with money and one thing that he is interested in right now is investment properties/rental properties. He got this book for Christmas and has been LOVING it, and buying it for everyone that he knows.

Tera

  1. Tera is her Daddy’s little mini, and she adores him with all of her heart. We call her our “mini police officer” because she likes to make sure everyone follows all the rules all the time- including herself. She’s very black and white and is so caring for all those around her. She notices emotions and feelings that I don’t even take the time to notice and is always quick to love, hug or encourage someone who is down.
  2. She is THREE. Boy, oh boy is three…fun. Some days she is absolutely rotten and other days I wonder how we created a miniature, mature person out of our own bodies.
  3. She is an extremely articulate and well-spoken child. She can communicate her thoughts and feelings extremely well, she speaks always in complete sentences and uses vocabulary (correctly) that always surprises me!

King Kiah

  1. At 16 months old, he finally started walking….and less than a week later, he is RUNNING everywhere, keeping up with everyone and a completely independent walker. Just yesterday we went on a mile long hike and walked almost the entire time!
  2. This kid loves to snuggle. So much snuggling! He especially loves his Mama and isn’t even interested in anyone else if Mama is around.
  3. He LOVES to be outside. He can already say “outside” and will frequently bring his shoes to us and then stand at the door and say “outside, outside, outside”.

Heavenly

  1. This girl could get a rock to talk to her. She is the most outgoing and social person I have ever met in my life! She can talk to anyone, of any age level, and leave the conversation with them completely endeared to her. Unless, of course, you are her teacher or the person trying to get her to shush in church. HAHA.
  2. Heavenly is extremely musically talented. She can play music by ear and has made leaps and bounds on the viola. A friend recently GAVE us her keyboard and Heavenly has been really enjoying sounding out some songs on it!
  3. Heavenly is a natural leader. I can put her into a room with 30 chaotic children and she will have them all playing an organized sport in less than five minutes. For someone who is an only child before our home, she is incredibly talented with children and both her teachers and I have noticed and really worked to encourage her in that area.

Suzanne

  1. I spend most of my day making sure that my children are fed, clothed and somewhat happy. While this is extremely draining and takes a fair bit of selflessness, I honestly wouldn’t change my place in life right now. I love being a Mom and I’m so thankful I get to be a stay at home Mom.
  2. I have been making our bread homemade this year, and at first EVERYONE complained about it. I forced them to eat it for one full month before even considering going back to store-bought bread, but by the end of the month they all loved it…never going back!
  3. I struggle to find time for myself and find things that I love to do, but I occasionally get to fit in some hours of writing, reading or getting outside with the kids (now that the weather is warming up!)
