Sweater Weather

When I first moved back to the States after spending almost my entire life in Niger, I struggled to figure out how to stay warm in the winter. It’s taken me YEARS to figure out that wrapping my entire body in warm clothing is normal and a fully acceptable way to stay warm in the cold! I know for most people, this is a completely normal concept, but for me it has always been very foreign. I like my short sleeves, tank tops, and shorts, ok??

But here’s the thing. The cold weather is upon us and it’s time to get nice and cozy and warm. My favorite way to dress in the winter is with comfy jeans, a nice and soft sweater and some warm socks.

The other day I stumbled across an adorable sweater on Amazon. I am nothing if not predictable, and the color block/colorful stripes trend is my FAVORITE. Finding one cute sweater led to finding more and more adorable sweaters, and I thought I would share the best that I found! Here are my six favorite sweaters- almost all under $20!

I love the warm, earthy tones on this one and it would go so well with jeans or leggings! It also comes in several other warm and earthy tones!

The black one is fine, but I love the pink and blue one of these! They look so comfy and like a t-shirt, but I would also feel comfortable wearing this for teaching.

I cannot for the life of me figure out how people tie front knots in their shirts and make it look cute- so I’m all about a pre-tied front knot sweater! Again, I love the casual-ness of this sweater combined with how cute it is- I would absolutely wear this to teach! Plus, it comes in over 30 colors!

I actually own this shirt in the green color, and it SO comfortable and just fits my frame really well! It’s soft and flows and has great bottom coverage while not being gape-y and lose. It’s seriously the PERFECT teacher shirt- I can bend over and be sitting on the floor all while feeling comfortable and looking put together. I love all 9 colors of this shirt!

Cute and simple! Love the blue of this one! And I’m a big fan of the mustard yellow being worn by someone else, but I think I could actually pull off wearing mustard yellow on the bottom of the color block on this sweater!

There is just something about those colors and stripes that I love! Here is one last sweater that is making it onto my Christmas list!

What about you? Are you a fan of the color blocking and stripes trend going around? Are you a warm and cozy weather person, or do you prefer summer clothes like me? What is your favorite way to warm up on a cold day?
