I’m looking for some bloggers who would like to collaborate together. I have been blogging for a long time, and for me this is mostly a hobby with no intention to make money. If I do make money from blogging, that would be great, but I’m not working this as a part time/full time job.
One thing that many bloggers recommend is having a good community. I used to be part of an instagram group who shared our links, our posts, chatted, and really supported each other. That group fell apart and we all kind of moved on- which is fine! It was helpful for a season, and then that season ended. But I’m hoping to find some kind of collaboration like that again. I’ve tried to join Facebook groups that are “bloggers helping bloggers” and it’s just a huge link dump where I’m clicking through on blogs that are just huge billboards of ads/links/advertisements. That’s not really where I want to spend my time. Anyone else with me on that? I LOVE several link-ups that I try to join, but I also struggle with the rigidity of posting on a certain topic at a certain day/time. I miss these link up posts all the time and then feel frustrated because I have to wait another month before it rolls back around and I can get in on the action.
I follow quite a few blogs that I love, and I know that one thing I need to do better is comment on more of the blogs I’m reading. However, I sometimes wrestle with the technology of commenting and the fact that it’s not always reciprocated. I have no idea if the bloggers that I’m following are also following me!
I do know that Joanne and Maria are two of the most faithful commenters on my blog. And the fact that they comment leads to me know that they are kind, genuine and supportive. And that makes me interested in their lives (and therefore their blogs!)- but I need a deeper connection that isn’t just the clunky commenting on blogs!
I’ve seen a lot of bloggers come and go, and I’ve also seen a lot of bloggers stick around…but change. What started as honest and genuine has turned into SO many links on their pages and somewhere along the line I feel like they aren’t really sharing their lives, they are sharing their curations. It deeply bothers me and I am trying to get away from linking up with their blogs- the problem is that this the best way to find/connect with other bloggers and get views on my blog!
Does anyone else have this dilemma or is it just me?
Anyways- I was thinking through a solution and what I would love to do is create a Facebook group where it is easier to “chat”, and to share links, and to drop comments, ideas, and other blogs we have found! In addition, I would LOVE to co-host some kind of monthly link-up with some of you wonderful bloggers! I know there are quite a few great ones out there- including Monthly Musings, The Weekly Hodgepodge, Currently with Jen, and a few others that I’ve seen! And wouldn’t it be fun to have an in-person get together at some point?
Anyways- I went ahead and created a Facebook group, so you can feel free to join! This is perfect for you if you have a blog and want to connect on a more personal level with other bloggers. This is perfect for you if you love blogging as a hobby or even a side-income. It’s great if you are tired of the Pinterest-perfect energy coming at us from all directions at once, but you just want to share your actual “small” and beautiful life.
Here is the link to the Facebook Group: Small and Beautiful Blogs
I’d love for you to join! Once we have a few members, we will do some intro posts, some link chats and go from there!

Thanks for the shout out- I feel badly that I don’t comment more on your posts. As you know, I have had some difficulties posting comments to your blog. However, if you don’t hear from me, it’s not because I’m not reading and enjoying your posts because I do read and I do enjoy your posts :).
I will try to join your FB group. I joined FB about two years ago to join FB Marketplace since that sort up became the “new normal” way to buy and sell used items from local ppl. However, I don’t follow or friend anyone and have no desire to do so. All that to say, I’ve only used FB for Marketplace but I’ll poke around and try to join :).
I find the whole blogsophere community so interesting from a sociological point of view!! I never used to interact with others i.e. I never did link ups and I used to comment on only one or two blogs. I would love to make money writing but I don’t see my blog as a means to accomplish that.
To wrap this up, I’ll check out your link and try to join :).
