Friday Favorites- Teacher Back to School Week

WOW! It’s been a *busy* week around here! You should see the floor of my laundry room- or really just the floor of my whole house- it looks like a bomb went off! I haven’t been home to pick anything up, so it has dissolved into chaos! But you know what? It’s the good kind of chaos! The kind that means my cup is so, so full that it is overflowing! Let’s take a look at what this past week has held!

Sunflowers

My sunflowers are blooming!! They are STUNNING. And I love my little “wild and free” patch of blooms.

Picnic in the Trees

We had a couple days of GLORIOUS weather- the temps were down, and we took advantage of that to have a picnic outside! The kids went off in search of critters and found a lot.

First Lost Tooth

Ezra lost his first tooth! We were driving along in the van and that sucker finally came out!

First Youth Group

And on the other side of the spectrum, Tera went to her first youth group this week! This was a milestone that took me by surprise and there were lots of emotions!

Lost Gifts and Books Published

My friend Brittany published a book called Lost Gifts…it’s about her journey through miscarriage and how God has been faithful in her life. It was a beautiful book launch party and I was so thankful to get to be a part of it!

Classroom Set Up and Teacher Meetings

I’ve spent 6-7 hours each day this week in my classroom and attending teacher meetings to get everything ready for back to school! If you know a teacher or a school administer, just thank them, give them a hug and maybe a big cup of coffee or a candy bar. This is an exhausting time of the year for us!

Homestead Entertainment

It is Tera’s birthday this week and we picked her up a new bunny friend! Also, our chickens find some very interesting places to lay. But a bucket full of nails might be the most unique place I’ve ever found a chicken egg!

Engagement Anniversary

This week we realized that we got engaged 14 years ago! Here are some of our engagement pictures for your entertainment! We got engaged in Niger while on a picnic to the sand dunes.

Ezra’s Eye Appointment

Ezra had an eye appointment this week – it was quite the experience. First, the receptionist literally rolled her eyeballs all the way back at me four or five times- every question I had was met with an incredibly rude response. I wasn’t being difficult- I literally asked how much self-pay would be, and if she could update our insurance since we had a job change. She then charged me a certain amount and at the end of the appointment a different receptionist pulled me aside and told me that she had undercharged me by $50. They weren’t going to charge the $50 but they wanted to let me know for next time that the price had been wrong. Then, Ori peed on my lap and I was getting him wiped up right when the doctor came in. Ezra got his eyes dilated which he hates so overall we were really glad to be done with that appointment and out of that office!

Podcast Episode Recommendation

This episode really blessed me this week! I thought I would share in case you need a good episode recommendation!

Lastly, I’m still looking for some bloggers to join my blog Facebook group. It’s a group where we can connect in a quicker way than through blog commenting. Just click on the hyperlink and come on over and request to join! I’d love to have you!!

That’s all for now! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
