I had every good intention of writing several blog posts over my Christmas break, before the new year arrived…but here we are…January 2nd…and I didn’t get around to that. However, year end recaps are some of my FAVORITES so I am going to go ahead and post my 2025 by the numbers, as well as one or two other 2025 recap posts in the next week or so. If that isn’t your thing…scroll on by!
Top Blog Posts
First up…let’s look at my top 10 blog posts of the year. Now, my homepage by far gets the most views each year, and then I have a few posts written years ago that still get a lot of hits from random google searches, but this is a list of the top 10 posts that I published in 2025:
5. A Day in the Life of a Law Enforcement Officer (this was one of my favorite posts to write!)
4. Friday Favorites- Winter Snap
3. Plot Twist: Life Update 3/3 (where I announce that Theo is the new Executive Director of CHESS Christian School)
2. Plot Twist: Life Update 1/3 (where I announce Theo is getting his Masters Degree)
- Plot Twist: Life Update 2/3 (where I announce that Theo is no longer a police officer)
Piano Practice
Back in 2023, I started practicing piano. I knew NOTHING- not even how to read music. I’ve been using Simply Piano for 2.5 years now and I’ve learned so much! Here are my piano stats for the year.

Running
I also got some good miles in this year! Although it does kill me that unbeknownst to me, I would end the year .9 miles away from a nice, even number. How does that even happen? I should’ve stopped running .9 miles before I was done at least once. Haha!

Reading
I love this Goodreads recap that they send out! Seeing all my reading stats is so much fun.

Daily Life
Not going to lie, I wish there was a “2025 wrapped” for all kinds of daily, mundane things- like
- you made dinner 350 times
- you broke up 1,986 arguments
- you did 450 loads of laundry
- you drove 6732 miles to and from kids activities
- you were woken up 876 times in the night
- you fed your livestock and animals 620 times
Haha, those are all made up, but wouldn’t we feel so much more accomplished if we were given some stats like that? Like, no, I didn’t hit my half marathon time goal, but I DID read 200 devotionals to my kids. Maybe one of my new years goals should be to keep numerical track of some of these things. What small, mundane chore would you want to add to the list, so that at the end of the year you would feel wildly accomplished by the sheer amount of times you have done said chore?
And that is a 2025 by the numbers for me.

Oh those last stats would be so much fun to see if they existed! LOL. My goodreads summary is waaay off and I can only assume it’s because I’m awful at marking down books as I read them… and then I mark a ton of them as read all at once.
