Amazon Lately

For some reason one of my favorite blog posts to read are ones that the blogger lists the last few items that they have bought from Amazon. I think I love this so much because it shows what a person is REALLY buying on Amazon, not just what a blogger might be paid to sponsor.

As always, these are things that I have spent my own money on, and I’ll include a little review here, too. If you click the link and decide to purchase, Amazon will give me about two pennies for your purchase. It’s called an affiliate link, and essentially Amazon realizes that people are doing advertising for them, so they pay according to how much you sell for them. They don’t know who I am or what I’m linking, they just like that I include links to their site. This is different from a sponsored post, in which they pay you upfront whether or not anyone buys. Also…ANYONE can be an affiliate (yes, you!), whereas you have to apply and be accepted to be a sponsor.

Remember- if you don’t have money to spend…don’t spend it!!! I will never tell anyone to buy something that does not fit directly into your budget.

Also, please remember that these purchases were not al made at one time! It can be easy to compare your wallet to mine when you see what purchases I’ve made, but these purchases are all the purchases we’ve made in the last few months.

Anyways, on to my most recent purchases!

This splash pad is SO FUN! It was $20, and it’s perfect for my two bigger kids (aged 4 and 2). We have had a small pool in the past, but neither of them really know what to do in the water and Kiah hates getting in. But this little pool thing is PERFECT. Its only about ankle deep, but they both like to lay down and roll in it. The sprinkler part is also really fun and can go high or low based on how much water pressure is coming out. We LOVE this thing.

Except……it popped within about 20 minutes of using it. Theo duct taped it up and we have just kept on using it. In fact, we love it so much that I am going to order another one. BUT, beware…it might not last too long. However, it has fantastic reviews and no one else has mentioned it popping, so maybe we just got one that wasn’t the greatest?

I have been looking around for some cute summer wedges for awhile now. I’ve heard great things about the TOMS wedges, but the $80 price tag was not my favorite. I found them on Amazon for $60, which is still….WAY more than I would ever pay for a pair of shoes. But I got some birthday money and decided to go for it. I LOVE these! They are pretty comfortable, although a little tight in the width (I’m hoping they will stretch out like my regular TOMs do). I do recommend these, but only if you really do have some money to spend.

Somehow Ezra John is already old enough to start eating table food with us! We do baby led weaning, so Ezra eats whatever we are eating. I LOVE these little mesh holders to put bananas or fruit or other types of food inside it. He can hold it and gnaw on the mesh part to get small bits of food out.

I’ve heard such fantastic things about these sippy cups, so I decided that Ezra would be the one to try them out! So far, he isn’t drinking any water, but he does like to chew on the tops of these (which is how you are supposed to get water out of them).

Theo got me this houseplant book for my birthday, and I love it! It’s so fun! It gives the most helpful and accurate tips to help take care of my plants, and how to save it if I mess up (underwater or overwater). It goes through about 100 houseplants and how to care for each one. I literally went through the book and told Theo I now want ALL the plants. But, first…I need to keep the ones I have alive, since I just nearly drowned my aloe.

Theo got these cameras and set them up outside. We don’t have a fence and we have a neighbor who doesn’t really understand social boundaries, so Theo wanted some cameras just as a precaution. They work really well, and it’s really helpful to be able to see all the angles of our yard.

Urine Test Strips. Oh, yes. We have one child who is prone to UTI’s, and it’s always so helpful to be able to test and see if she does have a UTI before rushing off to the doctor or Urgent Care. I see this as kind of like a pregnancy test. If you think you are pregnant, you take a test…and if it’s positive, you call your doctor and start seeking their care. If it’s negative, ou usually just continue on without consulting a doctor. Same with this. Test, and if it’s positive, seek a doctors care! But if it’s negative, it’s nice to know I don’t have to rush to the doctor. This particular test tests for several other things in the urine as well (protein, blood, etc), which is helpful to know.

I ordered this book for a friend who is going through a hard time. I’ve heard GREAT things about this book, but I haven’t read it myself yet. My friends says it’s excellent, so I can’t wait to get my hands on it!

When we went to the airport to pick up my parents, we somehow lost Ezra’s pacifier. I cannot believe that I will spend $15 on a pacifier, but we live and die by these wubbanub paci’s.

Theo ordered this fan to take to work. He has to wear an undershirt + a bulletproof vest + a button-up uniform shirt + pants and socks and boots + no A.C. in his cruiser = one really hot and sweaty officer.

This summer, I really wanted to grow my own herbs. Who am I kidding…I want to do this every summer, and never succeed. This year I decided to try this kit. It comes with everything, including the dirt. It’s in this hard, dry cake and when you pour water on it, it grows into soil. I planted the seeds and some of them grew, and then they all died and I cried. And then I ignored them for awhile and completely gave up on them and then Theo started pouring water on them and then they grew so big and beautiful! And now I have herbs! There are several different kits available with different types of herbs, but I got the one with Basil, Cilantro, Parsley, Thyme and Sage.

We love that splash pad! Bought it for my daughter’s birthday last summer. So far no problems yet.
How can a police officers car not have ac? That’s crazy.
I bought the Lysa terkherst book as well but haven’t read it yet.

Yeah, no AC in a police car?? I hope the fan is helping.

My Amazon purchases the last few months have pretty much all been vitamins/supplements, maternity and baby stuff, and food.
