Hiking Challenge

We did it!!!

Well, almost.

We missed ONE day.

And our plans got interrupted when Theo’s car brake lines went out, meaning that he had to take the van to work. On those days, I wasn’t able to take the kids for a HIKE since we couldn’t get to a trail. But I took them for a neighborhood walk instead.

We had ALL types of weather- warm, hot, snowy, rainy, muddy, windy, dreary, sunny….all of it!!! We were able to wear shorts and tank tops some days and there were a few days that I had to put snow pants on the kids because it was in the low 30s! Gotta love spring in Ohio.

When I first started this challenge, I was optimistic but I did not think that I would actually be able to accomplish it. It was NOT easy. But, honestly, this challenge kept me motivated and took up a solid two hours each day. It kept me from wallowing around complaining about the weather AND it got my kids outside every single day. My outside kids are the best versions of themselves. They fight far less and explore far more. They stick together and are practicing how to listen. They learned more about the great outdoors and we literally got to watch Spring unfold before our very eyes Just check out the lack of greenery at the beginning of the month, and the vibrant colors by the end!
