Trying to get my brain back in blogging mode, and the best way that I can do that is by crafting a post that involves prompts. Because it helps me narrow down all my scattered thoughts into a more cohesive flow. So I’m joining up (two days late!) with What’s Up Wednesday, a fun link-up hosted by some other bloggers. I love reading through the other bloggers who have linked up, and I have found some of my favorite blogs this way!

What We Are Eating This Week: To be completely honest, I have not a clue. I am planning on doing my monthly menu planning as soon as I finish working on this blog post. With the rising grocery prices, I am really trying to keep things simple around here and use up what I have, which means some more creative cooking in the kitchen. I have also mostly stopped purchasing snack foods and am working on getting into the habit of making my own- like homemade granola bars, smoothies, muffins, fruit and veggies!

What I’m Reminiscing About: Our anniversary trip to Florida! It was our 10th wedding anniversary and our first time getting away for more than a weekend without kids. It was an amazing time- and the kids had a wonderful time with both sets of grandparents!!

What I’m Loving: Mulberry Lemonade and my under the counter radio. We have many mulberry trees on our homestead and we have been trying to use them as fast as we can! Our favorite way so far is in mulberry lemonade. SO delicious.

And yesterday Theo hung my under the counter radio. I am finding it’s the *littlest* things that make it feel like home here. Having my own music, CDs and bluetooth connection in my kitchen makes it feel like *my* kitchen.
What We’ve Been Up To: June felt like a wild month! We had just moved and went through the drama/trauma of leaving our church, and Theo started a new work shift, so June was basically just trying to regain equilibrium! The kids did VBS, we did a couple park days and pool play dates, took a day trip to Cleveland, went on our anniversary trip (while the kids went to the grandparents) and now we are back home and needing to catch our breath and just be bored for awhile!

What I’m Dreading: Honestly, I could use like one extra month of summer so I’m kind of dreading going back to school. Not because I dislike teaching or dread that in general, but just because I’m not ready!!
What I’m Working On: 1000% just establishing a routine for our family. Theo’s shift change was a big one for us and it has involved a change in routine for all of us. I’m just trying to get us to the place where each day feels stable and reliable, if you know what I mean?!

What I’m Excited About: So much! We have two more trips this summer, and then two other families planning to visit. It’s so exciting finally being able to see friends and spend time together.
What I’m Watching/Reading: On our anniversary trip, Theo and I watched a couple seasons of The Crown. Otherwise, we haven’t watched much TV at all this summer. Theo loves watching homesteading YouTube videos haha. As for reading, I’m doing plenty of that!
Just finished:

Just started:

Reading together with Theo:

What I’m Listening To: I mostly listen to Christian radio and country radio, but I do enjoy some fun Spotify playlists.
What I’m Wearing: I love wearing a simple tank and a skirt or shorts in the summer. Summer sundresses are also in rotation around here. As long as I’m cool, comfortable (can bend over and keep up with the kids) and at least kind of cute, I’m good!

What I’m Doing This Weekend: Ah, another holiday weekend…which means overtime work and long hours for Theo. I don’t know if I’m brave enough to take all three kids solo to a parade/fireworks, but I’m seriously considering it because it sounds like so much FUN!
And that’s a wrap on a little June life update! Hopefully I will have a more consistent posting schedule in the upcoming weeks, because I sure do miss writing in smaller batches!
