Currently Eating:
I am FINALLY back to being in the kitchen and it’s great! The only thing not so great about it is that sometimes I get hit with nausea right around the 5:00 hour and then what I have planned for dinner does not sound appealing to look at, let alone cook! But our menu for this upcoming week is as follows:
Sat- Garden Supper Casserole
Sun- Lunch at my parents house; dinner muffin meal, leftovers or grilled cheese
Mon- Pancakes and leftover fried chicken
Tue- Stroganoff Meatballs with Pasta
Weds- Fiesta Casserole (Crockpot)
Thurs- Eat at my Mom’s house
Friday- Quiche
Currently Loving: I’m not going to lie, this weather is actually pretty great. I can cozy up in the mornings and the evenings, we have a fire going in our wood burning stove…but it also warms up to about 70 so I can still stand to be outside!

Currently Wearing: Well, this is tough because I’m stuck between all the sizes, shapes and seasons. I ended up taking out all of my fall/winter clothes as well as all of my maternity clothes. But since it’s still warm enough during the day to wear spring/summer clothes and I’m still not quite large enough to fill out my maternity clothes, I ALSO have all my non-maternity and non-winter clothes out. There were piles and piles of clothes around my house for a few days, but I finally managed to at least have an organizational system for all.the.clothes. And I know that in just a few months I will have a very different problem: only 4-5 outfits will actually fit me! So there is that haha!

Currently What We Are Up To: Oh, man! All the things. September was full and busy with school events, family events, church events…all the events. And believe it or not, October is even busier! We have a birthday, a wedding, a visit from out of town family, some school events and all the other fun things in-between.
Besides all these big events, though, I’m still just trying to get a good routine established with Theo working evenings/weekends, me teaching two days a week, taking care of the kids and homeschooling them part time, and raising all these animals that we seem to have collected!

Currently Dreading: The winter. I think if you asked me what I’m dreading I would say “the winter” even if it was the first day of Spring. I HATE winter and dread it coming back around from the moment it ends! I’m also already starting to nervously anticipate labor and delivery of this baby. It seems that the more times I do, the worse my dread of the event actually gets. Oh, to be blissfully unaware and excited for labor like I was with my first! Haha.
Currently Working on: Keeping my family in a good routine that involves good meals, a somewhat clean home, reliable bedtimes, consistent exercise and time outside and also rest. Even though I knew it was going to be hard, I truthfully wasn’t fully aware of how badly we would be thrown off our life routines by this pregnancy. I am almost 18 weeks pregnant and this past week was the first time that I felt like I sorta was kinda establishing a good routine back for me and the kids.
Currently Excited About: Dan and Corinne’s wedding next weekend!!!! We are so excited!

Currently Admiring: My backyard. I just can’t believe we live here! I am also admiring my co-workers, who work under a lot of stress and go above and beyond for very little pay. I seriously work with the best team and every time I see them teaching I feel intimated (but also steal their ideas haha!).

Currently Spending: Well, unfortunately this past month was a HUGE spending month for us. We had some unexpected vet bills, followed by paying for our will, followed by paying to fill up our oil tank for our winter heat, and then paying for prenatal care that is not covered by insurance. It’s really expensive to pay those things up front but also completely necessary. It’s just hard when it all happens at once!
Currently Reading: I just finished Carrie Soto is back. I wasn’t a fan! TJR is one of my favorite authors and I will always pick up her books. And it’s undeniable that she is an incredibly talented writer. She is also so unique in that she writes her characters to sometimes be hard to love. But it makes us love them all the more, because that just makes them relatable to us as human beings. But this book missed the mark for me because the plot was quite slow and there was SO MUCH TENNIS. SO MUCH. I was skimming most of the matches, and that’s just not a good sign while reading a book. My opinion is that if this book wasn’t written by TJR, most people wouldn’t have liked it at all.
Now that I’ve finished Carrie Soto, I picked up Hotel Nantucket by Elin Hilderbrand. I’m still trying to make my way through my summer TBR, and I am also working against the library holds list lol.
Currently Wanting: To feel like myself. I had forgotten how hard pregnancy is on my mental health! I don’t want to wish the whole thing away, nor do I just want to twiddle my thumbs and be in a bad mood until March, but also- it’s hard not feeling like myself and having to fight for a good perspective every single day.
Currently Watching: I’ve talked briefly before about how we chose to get rid of all streaming services, and with Theo working evening shift we very rarely watch any TV in our house. I’m not going to lie- we miss it! We miss evening where we could put the kids to bed and curl up together and watch a show. ANYWAYS, when I was sick in bed a lot this summer I did discover that abc has some shows that can be watched for free (with a bajillion ads) and I started watching the Bachlorette (again). What a train wreck. I used to watch the show long ago, and felt fairly convicted to give it up. I did give it up, but something that fascinated me is the social commentary around the show. There is so many problematic things but also so many FASCINATING parts of human behavior that are in full display on this show. So now I’m not interested in the show nor do I believe 97% of what I see on it, BUT I have found it entertaining to watch this one season. If Theo and I find a rare evening to watch something together, we are going through Downton Abbey and Shark Tank.
And that is what is happening Currently around here! How about you? What are you currently up to?
