Currently…

I’m linking up with some other fun bloggers to share some things currently going on in life! We are coming off a bit of a tough weekend and going into the last two weeks of school before Christmas break. There is ABSOLUTELY something on the schedule for every single day in the next two weeks!

Currently I’m….

—-Loving

Sunday afternoon’s at my Mom’s house. This is something that I longed for for many years. The first 7 years of parenting I had no family close by and I just kind of had to do it all. Theo has almost always worked weekends in those past 7 years and so Sunday’s were always especially lonely. It seemed like everyone I knew was going over to someone else’s house for lunch and I was going home…alone. With a bunch of tiny children.

My parents moved to the States about a year ago and we have started having Sunday lunch + afternoon at their house. In the spring/summer/fall, we go for a walk or bike ride after lunch, and in the winter we tend to curl up on the couches and watch a show or play some games together.

—-Gifting

I am so excited for my kids teacher gifts this year! Money is tight this year, so I am using the resources that I have in front of me and gifting each teacher a dozen fresh eggs and a little handmade recipe book of our favorite egg recipes.

—-Wrapping

Absolutely nothing. Not one single Christmas present has been purchased, let alone wrapped and placed under the tree. I usually don’t put presents under the tree until a day or two before Christmas since they tend to get poked and prodded a lot. So I will probably have a wrapping day the week or so before Christmas.

—- Hoping

For a good Christmas break from school. Thanksgiving break was a little bit tough on my mental health, and then we have been slammed with sickness since then. I have a long list of things that I would like to get done during break, since once I go back to school in January we do not have any time off until my actual due date! So hopefully I will be able to clean and organize the house, do lots of nesting, get some baby stuff organized and set up, spend some quality time with my kids and husband, and have minimal morning sickness! And if I’m being completely honest, that is my biggest hope…that I will have a third trimester free of morning sickness!

—- Attending

A couple of holiday parties here and there! Our calendar has actually slowed down a lot in December, especially once we go on Christmas break! I did attend a staff Christmas party this past weekend and it was a blast! The next things I will be attending is lots of school Christmas parties (but I’m already there for my job haha) and Christmas Eve/Christmas services at church.

And that is what is going on around these parts currently!

With the expense of eggs this year anyway I am SURE those teacher gifts will be much appreciated! What a great idea. Wishing you a third trimester free from morning sickness (my middle son made me sick all 9 months at all times of the day… it was the worst).

Sunday dinner/afternoon is my favorite day of the week.
Eggs and a cookbook are a great idea…. Especially those eggs. They are so yummy!
