November Recap

The month of November went by in such a blur for me! We actually had a slower month than the previous fall months, but we still managed to pack a lot into it!

This month was especially challenging for me pregnancy-wise and the cold weather hit us for real.

I am so thankful for some cozy days at home to snuggle with animals, read some books and just enjoy time together as a family. Also, I’m already ready for Spring…so there are two sides to every story hahaha.

Before the cold really hit, we managed to get in some family hikes! I mean…is there anything better than a fall hike?

One of my favorite class projects is when we talk about our community, and then we work together to make a community! Each student builds and brings in a community building and then we set it up in our classroom as a little village. We even vote on a mayor and pick a name for the village. It is so much fun!

The kids and I took a quick weekend trip down to Charlotte, NC. The fall colors were really out on display while we drove down! We spent the weekend with one of my good high school friends. She also has three kids so we had a blast going to the park, to Cabela’s and just hanging out around her house. Unfortunately, I didn’t get a single picture with Joy, and I had to leave pretty quickly and unexpectedly when one of my kids got sick in the early AM. Looking forward to a much better ending to our next get together!

One day it was nearly 70 and beautiful outside, and the very next day we got our first snow! I thought that we would just get a few chilly flakes falling from the sky, but instead we actually got a good dusting!

I love getting cozy and spending some time indoors during the winter months. I am really starting to learn to embrace the seasons and the rhythms that come with each season. This is new to me because as a kid I grew up in West Africa and we didn’t really have seasons like this.

I finally was able to have enough energy/time to go through all my clothes and officially switch to all maternity clothes and all warm weather clothes. This was a whole project because I needed to store the warm weather clothes, then I needed to store the warm weather maternity clothes that won’t see the light of day during this pregnancy, then I needed to store my cold weather non-maternity clothes and finally hang and organize all the cold weather maternity clothes.

Our Ezra John turned FOUR this month! Hard to believe my baby is such a big boy- and soon to be a big brother!

We rounded out the month with Thanksgiving break from school, which will be a different blog post :). It was a good break from school but a busy time overall!

And that is a wrap on November! It is so very hard to believe that we are already in December and after that it will be the New Year…baby year! I’m interested to see if the time flies by or drags by…maybe it will be a little of both!
