What I Bought with a $100 Amazon Gift Card

I recently won a giveaway from my favorite bookstore- Dollar Book Swap! They threw in a bunch of amazing goodies and a $100 gift card to Amazon! The same week was teacher appreciation week and a wonderful family at our school gave me a $25 gift card to Amazon. So here is what I bought with $125 to Amazon…

The handle on Kiah’s water bottle recently broke, so he needed a new one. I went ahead and ordered a double set.

I am running low on mascara, so I ordered a new one.

I also got the black top coat of the same brand, but for some reason Amazon won’t let me link it.

Theo played this game at our last family reunion and really enjoyed it! We requested that our library purchased it and they did. We had it checked out for about 6 weeks and the kids + Theo played it constantly, so I went ahead and ordered it for our family! It’s one of those games that never has the same outcome twice and involves a level of strategy that makes any true-blood Hines thrilled! But also simple enough that the kids can play.

Summer is coming and the day that school gets out for summer, the kids can expect to come home to a little bit of *this* action.

I almost bought these newfangled reusable ones, but they seemed really expensive for the amount. Basically, we could all throw 2 and then have to refill, which really seems like it would put a damper on a water balloon fight. I think if I had a pool, I would get some of these, though!

This is kind of self explanatory…we needed restocked in all of the shampoo/conditioner. Side note: why do they always run out at the same time? I mean, I guess this is good from a restocking perspective, but it’s one of those expenses that I don’t ever think about, and then when it happens all at once it seems like a lot of money! But I’m glad I was able to use the gift card for these!

The kids have been really into jump roping lately and we are here for it! I ordered some Double Dutch ropes so hopefully our whole family can do a little bit of practicing this summer!

Finally, I got something for myself. I heard this light recommended for night time reading, but I really want to try it out for when I’m sewing/cross-stitching. Especially in the evening, I love the lighting of lamps, but can never see the different colors or where my thread is going lol. I often borrow Theo’s flashlight, but then always accidentally shining it in people’s eyes while sewing, so I’m excited to try this neck light out!

And that is what I used my gift cards on! I tried to make it a mix of practical things, something fun for our family, and something for myself as well!

And here were a few other items I was eyeing that I didn’t buy….

This tank top blouse is adorable and I love all the colors/patterns!

My friend Tracy told me about these tablecloths that have a zipper so they can go around the patio table umbrella. Our patio table is very redneck and having a tablecloth on it would elevate it greatly!

Kiah has been begging me for a watch that would track his steps. Theo was also recently on a missing child call and he mentioned maybe having a GPS watch for our kids in case they ever get lost, so I was just browsing around. I don’t think that this watch has GPS capability, but I would be interested in finding one that does ONLY those three things- time, step tracking, and GPS. Of course, if I got one for Kiah, I would need to get some for the other kids, too.

This looked like another fun strategy game that would entertain my kids + husband for a while!

The only piece of baby equipment we still need to get is a high chair. I still have a few months before he will be sitting in one, and I’m hoping to snag one at a garage sale, but I do have this one saved on Amazon just in case I need to buy it brand new.

And I’m always a sucker for buying a puzzle!

What about you? If you were gifted a $100 Amazon gift card, what would you buy with it?
