What’s Up Wednesday: May

It’s so hard to believe that we have already reached the end of May! I’m linking up with Shay and Shaeffer for What’s Up Wednesday.

What We Are Eating

Last night I used the grill for the first time this year, and it’s safe to say that we will be having lots of things on the grill! Also, bring on the fruits and veggies since they are finally getting to an affordable place.

What I’m Reminiscing About

This past month. It was INSANE but we loved it.

What I’m Loving

SUMMER WEATHER.

Summer Reading Guides.

Summer Schedules.

Did I mention that I love summer?

What We’ve Been Up To

What haven’t we been up to? Ha! We have been busy with all the end of the school year fun, Theo working two jobs, trying to balance having a new baby and three bigger kids, spring on the homestead, trying to fit in all of the social hangouts before everyone heads their own way this summer. This week things have finally started to settle, but I think it’s going to take a week or two to really come back to normal.

What I’m Dreading

Hearing “I’m bored” multiple times a day for the next 2.5 months. Also, Ezra just got scheduled for a tonsillectomy and I’m already really, really nervous! Drop any tips you have for me in the comments!

What I’m Working On

I am working on relying on our land as much as possible, and starting to think about how we can avoid store bought junk. I feel like I’m becoming a crunchy prepper, but I don’t think it will actually go that far. I’m just trying to learn how to make bread, how to make snacks, how to raise + butcher our own animals. It sure is a slow process with a really steep learning curve, but also a lot of fun!

What I’m Excited About

Even though we aren’t traveling and don’t have anything big planned for the summer, I’m just looking forward to some of the fun things that we have on our summer bucket list!

What I’m Watching/Reading…

I will publish my May book review on Friday, but here are some of the books that will be included in that review:

Together, Theo and I are slowly watching through House, MD. And I recently discovered Abbott Elementary and have been LOVING it. As an early childhood education teacher, this show really hits the nail on the head!

What I’m Listening to

I love Spotify! I love finding hidden gem playlists that someone else has already made that go along with my mood. I will listen to a country cardio mix while I run, and sometimes I will put on an Ellie Holcomb or Seeds Family Worship mix when we are struggling a lot in the house and need a mood reset. Just yesterday we were listening through an Upbeat Christian mix so we could pick a song for our family jump rope routine!

What I’m Wearing

I’m still struggling with clothing right now since my body is still very much postpartum. None of my shorts from last summer fit, so I find myself wearing a lot of t-shirts and skirts.

What I’m Doing This Weekend

We’ve got a pool party to attend, a work day to help out at, and Sunday lunch at my parents house. Otherwise no big plans! And that is pretty much what our whole summer looks like….nothing major, but tons of little bits of fun sprinkled here and there.

What I’m Looking Forward to Next Month

Summer schedules!

What Amazon Purchases Did I Love This Month

Did you see the blog post I wrote about what I bought with $100 gift card to Amazon? That was a fun post to write! I also am LOVING my patio tablecloth that has a zipper so that it goes around the patio umbrella! Its brilliant! And Theo ordered me my favorite Chai as a Mother’s Day gift- that is a FAVORITE for sure!

And that’s it for the month of May! Here are some of the blog posts that you may have missed:
