Loving…

SUMMERTIME. I mean, it really doesn’t get any better than summer! Maybe it’s because I’m a teacher with summers off, maybe it’s because my kids are still at a stage where entertainment can be cheap, maybe it’s just because I get to be outside allll day long. Or maybe it’s a combination of all of the above! I live my best life in the summer.

Savoring…

Mulberries and especially mulberry lemonade! I recently discovered flavored drinks and here are some of my favorites lately

  • liquid IV
  • Watermelon with Pomegranate Acai juice from Aldi
  • Homemade mulberry lemonade

Doing…

We have nothing major on our calendar this summer, but lots of fun sprinkled here and there. For now, what I am spending most of my day doing is just making sure that my kids are having fun and are on track with their growth and development. Ha! It feels so mundane, and it’s sometimes hard to see everyone else go on super fun vacations and trips, but really I am ok with having a vanilla summer with lots of sprinkles in it 🙂

Seeing…

Our homestead make some progress! It might not look like it from the outside, but it’s so fun to see our chicken flocks grow and to see eggs in nesting boxes each morning and check to see if our pig has given birth yet. It’s such a fun season on the homestead- we never know what we will see next!

Reading….

I have a *small* problem. A bunch of bloggers/podcasters/bookstagram people put out summer reading guides within the last two weeks. And I LOVE a good summer reading guide. But I am not just content to have the list and check one book out at a time. No, no. I need ALL the books- in print- on my own TBR shelf. And this is the problem that I now have:

Too many books, too little time! I know I won’t get through all these this summer, but a girl can try! And thankfully as long as someone else doesn’t have it on hold, the book will automatically renew from the library. Also hurray for small town libraries that have VERY short hold lists, if any at all! I often get new releases from the library on the day that they release, as long as I had it on hold before release date!

Currently, I am reading these two books…

Trying…

to learn how to play the piano! This summer we each picked something to work on (Tera- multiplication; Kiah- reading; Ezra- alphabet; Mom- piano). I finally broke down and paid for a piano training app, and I have LOVED practicing every day! The kids have even gotten in on it and each practice every day as well!

And that’s all for Currently in June. Thank, Jennifer, for such a fun and quick link-up! It’s one of my favorites to read, too, so if you head over to Jen’s blog, you can click on all the other bloggers who have linked up today.

I have the same book problem! I often check out too many books from the library and then stress myself out trying to read them all before they’re due back.
