In June, I posted about our summertime plans, with a cute little bucket list. I am here today to kind of recap our summer and see how we did! It was a FULL summer- we really didn’t do any traveling or vacations. The only time we even went out of town was for our family reunion and a wedding
Go to the beachÂDone! We went several times over the summer, although not as often as we had planned!

Go to the splash padWe did this twice and I think it’s official: my kids have aged out of splash pads. We also ended up going to a local pool/waterpark and that was a blast!!

Go mini golfingÂYes, we did this! And we enjoyed it with Memaw and Pepaw, too.

Go get ice creamÂWe did this on the very first day of summer, and did it a few more times throughout the summer as well!

Go to the Sugarcreek Bird Farm This was my first time there and it was a total BLAST! We will be back for sure!

- Family Jump Rope Routine. Nope. Tera did a fun jump rope camp but the rest of us barely even looked at our jump ropes!
Go campingÂTheo and the kids went camping and loved it!!!Hines Family Reunion Yes, we did this! And had a blast!

- Go tubing Womp womp. We were all set to go tubing and then realized that they had raised the price to $60 per person, so it was way out of budget for our family. Instead we went to the water park.
Get a new animalÂ15 guinea fowl and three rabbits!

Library Summer Reading Program The kids and I all finished the summer reading program and got a t-shirt from it!

- Make a farm stand. Didn’t do this. I have enough egg orders in my personal life that I don’t need to sell to random people driving past. I have basically no garden produce and my sunflower field was a total disappoint this year. One year I would still like to have a farm stand, but this year was not that year!
Have a playdate We did end up having a couple of playdates!Go to the fairÂWe spent one hot afternoon at the fair!Read the Chronicles of Narnia seriesSort of…we have been faithfully reading it all summer, but we still have 2.5 books to go!- Go to Kings Island. yeah, that also did not fit in our family budget. One year we will go, but we decided that this summer was not the right time for it!
- Memorize a Scripture passage . This is the only disappointment of the summer for me. We really didn’t end up with a consistent dinner/devotions routine and the Scripture memorization for sure slid off the radar. I would really like to do better at this!
Go to a paradeYes, we went to two!

Additionally, we did quite a few things that hadn’t been on my list when I first made it:
- Re-roof one of our rentals
- I got back into running

- Tera turned 9!

- We visited a Lavander farm

- The boys and I did a garden tour

- We went to the Hot Air Balloon Festival

- We went to a blueberry festival…in the POURING rain lol

- We butchered and processed two pigs

- Theo was best man in a wedding

- Ezra had surgery

- Tera did a jump rope camp and Kiah did a basketball camp

- We bought and put up some built in bookshelves for my book collection (and Kiah’s lego collection haha)

And that is a wrap on summer! We are back to school this week and while I wasn’t quite ready, I am also ready, if that makes any sense. It really was a sweet summertime after all!
