10 on the 10th of March: 10 Green Things

This post is coming two days late, but I did LOVE this challenge and decided to head outside and take pictures of 10 green things that I could find around our homestead!

Spring on the homestead is so beautiful and we are just itching to be spending all day outside! Come along with me while we find 10 green things.

  1. Some blooms coming up around our house!
  2. Wearing a green thrifted sweater
  3. This black chicken actually looks green when the sun hits her feathers just right!
  4. Fresh egg…the blue/green ones are my favorite (I’m pretty sure they are laid by the black chicken)
  5. Our little creek is bursting with life…and soon we will start finding crayfish, frogs and an occasional rogue turtle out there!
  6. This bush seems more yellow than green, but it is the first thing to bloom/leaf on the homestead!
  7. Anyone else find a large assortment of toys, shoes, towels, etc once the snow melts away and you go outside for the first time in months? Haha. Here is a softball and a nerf bullet at the base of our slide.
  8. The clover is growing! Soon this area will have tons of little yellow flowers- they grow best in swampy areas…which is our whole middle acre in the spring!
  9. A bud on my willow tree
  10. My 10th anniversary present from Theo…a willow tree. It’s hard to see, but it’s starting to turn green and grow buds/blossoms!

BONUS: It’s not very green yet, but pretty soon this field will be planted and it will grow either soybeans or corn and it will be SO green! I love this view from my front window.

The sun is coming out this week and we are getting some weather that will actually be pleasant to be outside, so I am guessing that our homestead will really be BURSTING with life in the next 10 days or so! Wooohooo!
