Today I’m just taking a moment to look back on our summer and share some of the highlights. Overall, this was a great summer, although I realized pretty quick that it wasn’t going to be very relaxing. We didn’t have much on the calendar, but four children and all of our animals just really fill up my days! Looking back at the summer, there are some things that I wish we had done- more relaxing, more time at the water, another camping trip, more calm days at home feeling like we could rest. But honestly, it was go go go all summer long. And I think that one day I will look back and miss these days. But for now…I’m still feeling a little breathless, to be honest!

Bonfire Summer Kickoff
Orion and I flew to Connecticut for my grandmothers funeral
We enjoyed the summer reading program at our library!
We animal sat for several friends! And took care of our own animals, including new baby bunnies and raising meat chickens and sheep for the first time!
I grew my first sunflower field and LOVED it so much. It bloomed for 6 whole weeks! I’m already dreaming of what it will be like next summer!
We enjoyed both a Hines Family Reunion and DeValve Family Reunion and celebrated my in-laws 50th wedding anniversary with a surprise party!
I trained for and ran a half marathon…
Our oldest child turned 10!!!
And we spent a lot of time outside and time together as a family! Festivals, tubing down the river, doing lots of chores around the homestead, getting 9+ inches of my hair chopped off, doing the Lebanon Garden Tour, camping with Daddy, hitting up some 4th of July Parades, going to the Ohio State Fair, and going to some local splash pads and beaches!
And that’s a wrap on our summer! While it wasn’t the BEST EVER, it was pretty great and I know that I will look back on our summers fondly from this time in our life. Summer, we will miss you!!
