Summer Outfits

It’s back to school week over here! Before I officially kiss summer goodbye, I thought I would share some of my summer outfits. I will try to list sources, but honestly most of my closet is Thrifted! I don’t take pictures every day, but I tried to do a bit of a better job taking pictures consistently.

Thrifted dress – I actually grabbed this one off the rack and then put it back multiple times because it was $15 and that is an outrageous price at a thrift store. But I loved it so much and eventually put it in my cart and rushed myself to the checkout!

I also wear plenty of running/workout clothes in the morning!

Well, I feel like I did terrible at recapping my summer outfits and even worse at sharing the sources because almost all of my clothes are thrifted or come to me through my local Buy Nothing group. In the summer, I tend to wear a cute top with shorts or a skirt or flowy dresses. Since we got a pool this summer I found myself wearing bathing suits with a t-shirt or shorts over it quite often, too! I find it so easy to get dressed in the summer because it just fits my go-to style.

If you’ve never been thrifting, I highly encourage you to try it! I get almost all my clothes thrifted, and while it takes a little while to build up my closet, I love being able to find most items I wear for $5 or less. Also, I mentioned a lot of my clothes coming from my Buy Nothing group. This is a Facebook group that is all over the country- just type “Buy Nothing ________ (your town/city)” and see if one comes up! The gist of the group is that you post things on there that you no longer want, and they always have to be free. Instead of just taking everything to goodwill, it’s a great way to give stuff away to people who will want/need it! I get a lot of giant trash bags of clothes, then go through them and keep what fits me, and regift what I don’t want or what doesn’t fit. It’s also great for giving things away because I just take a picture, post it, and then someone will claim it and come to my porch to pick it up for themselves!

Anyways, maybe I’ll do another outfit round-up with professional teacher clothes next! I certainly can’t remember to take a picture of my outfit every day, but maybe I can remember often enough to get a good round-up. I also plan to have a post with thrifting tips and tricks soon!

I hardly ever do any kind of in-person shopping, but I sometimes go to the thrift store for the kids and it’s pretty good. But a lot of the kids pieces are $5-10, and the adult stuff is usually $10-15+. I went for myself for the first time in years, when I had a bit of time without all the kids, and after putting a bunch in my cart to try on, realized there is no fitting room, so I put everything but two dresses back and took a gamble on those. One was brand new with tags and fit me perfectly and the other ended up being very short and fitted but works for at home.
