- Any back to school traditions?
Honestly, our back to school traditions involve surviving! All six of us jump into a school routine and it’s exhausting. We spend teacher training week at school pretty much every day, and then the first week of school is like going from 0-100 mph. We LOVE it. We all enjoy those weeks SO much, but there aren’t any special back to school dinners and I often don’t even have a chance to take first day of school pictures! Thankfully, someone else snagged this one for us this year!

2. How do you celebrate the first day of school?
We go home and go to bed as early as possible hahaha. Like I said above- our hearts are SO full and we are SO tired on the first day of school! First day of school this year we left the house at 7:10am, and I got home at 7:10pm- still had to make dinner and then put everyone to bed! It’s a LONG day!
3. Favorite early fall/back to school meals?
I love adding bread into every meal! It’s especially great when it’s warm and fresh from the oven! I also love adding soup into our weekly Sunday night grilled cheese meal. My favorite is Zuppa Tuscana soup- SO YUMMY!
4. What are your go-to outfits for early fall?
On a casual day, I love to wear jeans and a comfy sweatshirt. On a professional workday, I just switch to long sleeves with a cardigan that can be taken off if I’m getting too warm. These are all pictures from last fall. Looking at these pictures reminds me that pretty soon I’ll need to pull out all my fall/winter clothes and put away the summer clothes! To be honest, I am NOT ready!

5. Do kids go back to school before or after Labor Day in your area?
Our area goes back before Labor Day! I think most local schools are back in session. Our school started August 18th. But our last day of school for the 25-26 year is May 21!
6. When do you start to decorate for early fall?
Ummm….I honestly don’t do much seasonal decorating in our home. I DO love to pull out the basket of cozy blankets and I LOVE the first fire of the season!
7. How do you get back into the fall routine?
We just…jump into the deep end. Haha! There isn’t really a slow re-entry…it’s just BAM we are back to school, to homeschool days, to sports practice and being available all the time by email.
8. What are you most looking forward to this fall?
I love having lots of fun things on the calendar- sports games, school events, etc.
9. Do you decorate for fall?
Maybe this year I’ll browse Pinterest and tell Tera to do some crafts that brings some fall decor into the home.
10. What feels like fall to you?
Cool mornings, but afternoons that I can still wear a t-shirt and sit outside on the patio reading in the sunshine. Beautiful fall colors, and the perfect weather for hiking!

Thanks Holly and Patty for the fun link-up!
