In July, we spend time with boy sides of our family! My family gathered together totals 13 people- 6 adults and 7 kids, with Tera (10 years old) being the oldest. Theo’s family gathered together is 32 people- 13 adults and 24 kids ranging in age from 19 to 1. During both family gatherings, we broke out the games! Here are some of our favorite games that we played together:
Piles–
This was a fan favorite for kids and adults alike! It involves sorting clothes and making matches. It’s like a simpler version of Dutch Blitz, where everyone is playing at once! And we love this one because no one has to be able to read or write to play!

Qwixx
The first time I played this game I felt like it made no sense and I couldn’t figure out how to win. The second round I played, I destroyed everyone and won! So give it at least two rounds before you decide if you like it or not! It’s the perfect mix of luck, good choices and some strategy/skill.

The Game
This is a fun one that can be played anywhere, anytime. It’s different every single time we play and we love it!

What Do You Meme
This one was fabulous for our big family get together!

Skull King
The kids played this one with my brother and sister in law and LOVED it. They had a lot of fun analyzing how they could have done better after each game.

Uno No Mercy
We all know how to play Uno…but Uno Ne Mercy truly takes it to another level. This one is FUN, but be warned- you truly will lose and it IS ruthless!

Kids vs. Parents
A classic group game that can be fun for everyone!

Chess
Perfect for the introverts who just need to play a game that doesn’t involve 20 people and lots of noise. There was almost always a chess game happening during both of our reunions!

Family Charades
Another great one for a big group!

Secret Hitler
Honestly, I haven’t ever played this one myself, but the Hines brothers LOVE it. So, if you are into strategy and “mafia” type games, where you are trying to figure out who the bad guy is…this one is for you!

Poetry for Neanderthals
This one is also a fun one for a large group of people. Similar to charades and that one game where people have to guess the word based on clues, this one is a hilarious game where you have to talk in single syllable words to get your team to guess the word.

What do you think? Have you played any of these games? Or have any on your wishlist? I highly recommend each of these games for your next family reunion or get together!

I just love reading your posts. This one was part memory lane, and part I-want-to-try-that. Here at the retirement village, we play Sluff, Teachu, Hand & Foot – and once a month or so there is a game night where everyone who wants brings their favorites, hoping to lure others into a defeat.
I did notice that in your picture of the chess game … the black King and Queen are on the wrong squares!
