Friday Favorites 9/5/25

Well, its official- we are into the back to school routine! We are now at the point where it’s not all new and exciting anymore, and the work load is starting to feel tiring. The good news is that we do this every year, and every year we find our pace and don’t feel as exhausted and overwhelmed as we do at first. But it kind of looks like this:

First week- SO EXCITING

Second week- the good kind of tired

Third week- really tired (we are here)

Fourth week- adjusting to the pace

Needless to say, I didn’t take many pictures this week! But here are some favorites that I found in my camera roll from the past week:

Favorite 1: Brothers

These brothers are so sweet! Ori really wanted to carry his own backpack, but he couldn’t handle the weight, so Ezra lifted up the backpack for him and walked with him.

Favorite 2: Kittens

We inherited four little bitty kittens this week! The Mom was found deceased so we have taken them in. They are about four weeks old, so they are able to eat and poop/pee on their own, but they are also a total MESS and the cleaning/feeding them is a lot of work! They are adorable, but really hard to take pictures of! They are also available to go to new homes in about 2 weeks, so if you are local and need a kitty, let me know!

Favorite 3: Games with Cousins

We got to visit our DeValve cousins over Labor Day weekend and we enjoyed playing Skull King and Piles! I wrote a whole blog post about our favorite Family Reunion Games, and these two were played on repeat this weekend!

Favorite 4: The Madison, Wisconsin Farmers Market

Listen. This farmers market was a whole experience. It was the most gorgeous weather and also the beginning of school for UofW, so it was CROWDED. Basically, there was a current of human people walking around the square, and you just had to merge into the current and follow it’s flow! Kelly bought us some cheesy bread, and let’s just say that bread will absolutely be served on my plate at my first meal in heaven. SO GOOD.

Favorite 5: The Capital Building

We went inside the capital building and it was really cool! It was mostly just a casual pop in and out, but Daniel did show us some pretty cool features and pointed out the main things in the building. It’s a good reminder to me that our kids are probably old enough to start doing museums and history and tours!

Favorite 6: Family Time and Wisconsin Weather

We had such a lovely time together with my brother and his family! The weather SHOWED OFF for us. The mosquitoes did, too.

Favorite 7: THIS BOOK

Sorry, if you are getting tired of hearing me recommend this book. I just cannot stop recommending it! It is geared towards Christian wives and mothers, so if you don’t fit in that category, it may not be for you. But if you do fit in that category: bump this one to the top of your list.

And that is all for now! Enjoy this beautiful weekend and I’ll be back next week!
