Life Lately

I’ve missed about two months of blogging and recapping what is going on in life! As I sorted through some pictures, I thought about splitting this all into multiple posts, but then reality hit and I realized that probably will not happen. As I’ve been going through really old blog posts, I have been so grateful for how much I recorded and all the pictures that I included in my recaps. So even if no one else is reading this post, I am posting it so that I can have it to look back on! Here is a little look at Life Lately in Nov/Dec 2025!

We soaked up the last warm weather of the year with a glorious fall hike. Seriously, its hard to believe that this was just a few weeks ago!

Our school hosted an amazing craft fair, and the kids really wanted a table! We brainstormed a couple different things that we could make/sell, and the kids worked really hard to produce a product. The craft fair was busy, but we didn’t get many purchases. I think the kids learned SO much from this experience, even though there was some tears and disappointment at the end.

Winter is my least favorite season, and my least favorite transition is when fall collapses into winter. It happened early for us this year, before Thanksgiving! I took this picture of my living room the night before the first snow fell. Since then, we’ve had 3 separate snow storms and lots of snow on the ground! We’ve even had two snow days already this year, which is unheard of around here.

We celebrated Ezra turning 7!! He had some friends over after school for a little party, and then we celebrated with my parents as well. We were TIRED that night, y’all!

We enjoyed Thanksgiving break with a few days off and then a great visit from my brother and his family! We fit a lot into two days, including an unexpected ER trip for Ezra due to breathing difficulties. He’s had a number of health issues these past few weeks, so if you think of it, we’d appreciate some prayers for him!

Thanksgiving part 1- enjoying time together as a family! We represented our school in a local parade, celebrated one of my friends 40th birthday with a surprise party, visited the Children’s Museum in Indianapolis, and spent some cozy days at home trying to recover from the craziness of the school year!

Thanksgiving part 2- spending lots of time at my parents house with cousins! We watched the parade, did a gnome hunt, my parents prayed a special blessing over every person, we ate a lot of good food, visited the Dollar Book Swap and did a gift exchange with books, and watched Zootopia 2 in theaters!

The time between Thanksgiving and Christmas is like the spring to the finish- so many things to do and so many reasons to celebrate! We had a snow day, a staff Christmas party, a team Christmas party, rehearsals for the kids drama performance (which were sadly postponed due to the snow), basketball practices started up (although first games were also postponed due to the snow!), and allll the school things- including a preschool performance and a night of performances for all 3 big kids. We also rescued an owl and took it to a local rehab center, and enjoyed our town’s horse carriage parade!

We made it through our last week of school, and we are now officially on Christmas break! I think our entire family is feeling quite a bit like Ori here….just ready to crash and sleep for a week, no matter what piles of laundry are still laying around, or what clothing (hat and shoes) are still on…

I’ll be back on Monday to round up my top blog posts of 2025!
