Friday Favorites 1/16

Alternative title for this blog post: Let’s See What is on my Camera Roll 🙂

Friends

I got together with some friends and it’s always lovely to catch up. We used to all go to the same church, and now go to four different churches, but still try to get together every so often. It’s always so lovely to catch up and to be able to share life

Sunsets

We keep the most stunning view of the sunrise and sunset here at our little property. I don’t love winter, but the sunsets are one thing that is absolutely breathtaking about winter! If you haven’t seen a winter sunset recently, I would encourage you to try to catch one!

Babies

This picture popped up in my time hop this week. The funny thing about it is that when I showed it to Ori, he said it was Ori, Ezra and Tera. He was VERY confused about where Kiah could have gone. And when we told him it was Tera, Kiah and Ezra- he absolutely did not believe it.

Have you seen the trend to look back at 2016? What a walk down memory lane! It’s wild to think that in 2016 neither Ezra nor Orion were even a blip on our radar. And we didn’t even know about this school that we are now fully involved in. Life is wild!

Coat Bench

Check out this bench at recess at school. It was almost 60 in January, we had outside recess and the kids were shedding layers like crazy! It was hilarious!

INTENSE Basketball Games

The older kids and I stayed laaaate to watch one of our high school basketball games. It was our big rivalry game and the game was neck and neck almost the whole time. The spectators from both sides were LOUD and PROUD and it was a literal edge of your seat nail biter game. It’s been a long time since I’ve been to a sports game for entertainment purposes, but this one was a good one!

YMCA and Half Marathon Training

We went ahead and joined our local YMCA and have all been enjoying the classes and benefits! I have gotten back into my half marathon training and while it’s exhausting, I’m really hoping to hit my sub 2 hr goal time in May! I’ve also been attending some classes, which is fun.

Drama Performance

Tera and Kiah have been in drama class this year. We had a huge snowstorm blow in on the weekend that they should have had their Christmas drama performance, so it was rescheduled for this past weekend! Both Tera and Kiah did SUCH a great job- we are so proud of them! And so thankful for their grandparents and honorary grandparents to come and support them, too.

Mr. Hog

Exciting times on the homestead- we “borrowed” a large hog to hopefully spend some time with our female pig…and have piglets in the Spring! We will borrow him for a few weeks to ensure she has a complete cycle, then return him to his farm. He’s a BIG BOY- 700+ pounds. He literally looks like a polar bear!

Doula

Probably my top favorite of this year so far is that I got to be an official doula for a birth on Monday night. My sweet friend did such an INCREDIBLE job delivering her baby, and I was so honored to be there to help and support her. Birth is so beautiful, so sacred and I absolutely loved the small part I was able to take in it. What a privilege. I hope I get to continue to do this for people, and I’m hoping to complete my official doula certification by this summer!

And that is what has been happening lately!
