Florida Trip: The Wedding

At Christmas time, we found out that Theo’s brother Titus was engaged to his sweet girlfriend, Marissa! It didn’t take them long to plan out a wedding, and we were so thrilled to be able to attend! After a little bit of discussion, we felt it only made logical sense to take an entire week of vacation and make the wedding an entire Florida trip, and our family vacation for the year. The highlight of the week was Titus and Marissa’s wedding…especially for Tera. I don’t think I’ve ever seen her so excited for anything in her life. She had her outfit picked out about 6 weeks in advance and probably asked us every single day when the wedding was going to take place!

The wedding was at 11 am, which was so nice for us! We were able to wake up and eat a good breakfast, then get ready, then load up on snacks and head over to the wedding. We managed to book a hotel just down the street from the church, so it was a very short commute.

We even arrived with enough time to snap a few family photos before the wedding began! The Hines family is large, and we all have a lot of kids, but only two of us ended up bringing all our kids!

The setup for the ceremony was beautiful!

There was not a dry eye in the Hines family as we watched Titus’ face. We have all watched Titus walk through some hard things in the past few years, and this wedding felt like a beautiful rainbow after a hard, long storm.

You think the grooms face is fun? Check out the grooms sons face in the far left of this photo!

The ceremony was beautiful, but these Ohio people were not used to the Florida heat! Poor Ezra was a bucket of sweat so he lost his pants and had his onesie all the way unbottoned! Tera, Kiah and Jamie pick prime front row seats, which worked really well until their attention spans ran out about 3 minutes in… LOL. I think that Tera was a bit disappointed that a wedding was kind of boring haha.

After the wedding, we all stood up and went to congratulate the happy couple. I turned around and Tera was holding the bride’s flowers and posing for a picture! Haha! This is one of my favorite pictures!

Have you ever stood around waiting for pictures to be taken? If you have, you know that it can get a little bit boring. Well, boredom always leads to creativity and if you are around any of the Hines boys, the creativity abounds. Also, competition. Always competition. Like hand balancing babies.

Some family photo opps… Can you believe that Eryn is 20 weeks pregnant with baby #5? Gorgeous Mama!

Ethan and Kindrea with their one child. HAHA. They have four more at home.

Annnnd then there is us. LOL.

And the strong, loving and wonderful parents who raised 7 boys. I for sure lucked out in the in-law department!

There are 7 brothers, but unfortunately two were unable to attend.

So different, so alike, so much fun when they are all together.

NEVER a dull moment. I mean that literally. NEVER, EVER a dull moment.

And, bound together by the fact that our husbands our brothers, I have found some of the deepest and truest friends in these ladies right here.

All the Mrs. Hines!

After the ceremony + pictures, we moved on to the reception! It was beautiful with yummy food..but do you want to know the best part? The bride arranged for childcare to be provided to the family member kids in the church nursery. This was the most wonderful and brilliant idea because it allowed all of us adults to enjoy Titus and Marissa’s reception while also not having to arrange for babysitters. If you are getting married and have siblings/bridesmaids/groomsmen with kids, I cannot recommend this idea enough. I loved being able to go grab Tera and bring her in to the reception to watch the cake cutting, and then take her back to the nursery to let her play and not get bored/whiny/messy.

Mr. and Mrs!!!

Titus and Marissa kept the wedding and reception so simple, and I LOVED it (you know me and my love for simplicity!). They had a delicious buffet, ice tea and water and cake for dessert. They did a first dance and a father/daughter and mother/son dance and then spent the rest of the time mingling with their guests before the send off.

SO MANY CONGRATULATIONS to Titus and Marissa! We are so so thankful for Gods grace and goodness and cannot wait to see where the Lord takes the two of you!
