3 Things

As life has gotten crazier and blogging has gotten a bit more sporadic, I find myself trying to cram so many things into one blog post. I am hopefully providing content for everyone who needs resources, but I find that I am writing less about our family and the goings-on around here. I usually do one big dump post at the end of each month, but I really want to do better at recording family memories on this space here. I know it won’t make me any money and it probably won’t even spark much interest, but it is what I love and I would like to work on that. I also have realized that while both kid #1 and kid #2 got monthly blog posts, Ezra has not had a single one!

In the spirit of still keeping it simple, I just want to record three things that are going on in each of our lives right now…

Theo

  1. Theo truly loves his job. He’s good at it and enjoys most of his coworkers. It’s a good job and it’s perfect for him. While there is much turmoil in our country over LEOs and their reputations, we are so content that God has Theo in this position.
  2. Theo is the best Dad! He truly is. He is just as capable as me of handling all three at once, and I’m pretty sure that he is the go-to parent for both kids who aren’t dependent on me for food. Ha.
  3. Theo is so excited to begin pursuing rental investment properties. This is a dream that has been a long time in coming, and we are finally starting to take those big, big steps. Also, let’s be real…Theo loves anything that is adventurous and exciting. So buckle up because life with us with NEVER be boring!

Suzanne

  1. As this picture shows, I’m exhausted, but handling three kids pretty well. It’s been a wonderful and joyful transition, but there are some days that I’m literally going from one need to another for 12 hours straight. I wouldn’t trade these three blessings for anything, but I would gladly welcome a little less “Mommy! Mommy! Mommy! MOM! MOOOOOOM!” on some days.
  2. I wrote a book. What? Did I just slip a MAJOR announcement right into this post? Why, yes…I did. Stay tuned for more information on this!
  3. I LOVE living in a small home. I can literally clean the entire house in 25 mins, and it’s glorious. I love the extra time that this gives me to spend with my kiddos and just feel less frazzled about all things in general.

Tera

  1. Tera is nonstop. She quit napping at 2.5 and has never looked back. She is high energy from the second her eyes open until she finally falls asleep at night. She’s running, she’s jumping, she’s riling up her brothers. She has moments of calm, but this girl is an unstoppable world changer. She’s got FORCE.
  2. We recently found a school that is a university model, and Tera will be attending school in the fall! A university model means that the child will be in school for 2 days a week, and working at home for the rest of the week. We are thrilled with this, but no one is more excited than Tera to attend Kindergarten at a SCHOOL.
  3. Although she is tough and doesn’t love to sit and play calmly, she is also going through a very girlie stage. She LOVES all things princesses and weddings and sparkly/shiny!

Hezekiah

  1. Hezekiah is our little ham. He keeps us all laughing. He’s rather timid and quiet, but when he does do or say something, it’s usually hilarious.
  2. Hezekiah is doing SO WELL with his speech. He has started picking up so many words, and will shout them all day long. He is still concerningly behind where he should be at his age, but he is working so hard and making so much progress. He sat through the entire church service with me and shouted several words during the quiet times. I know my Mom duty is to teach him to sit quietly and to whisper, but it brings me so much joy to hear words come out of his mouth!
  3. Hezekiah loves so well. Ezra is four months old and not once has Kiah shown any jealousy towards his brother. He has adored him from the moment he met him, and that is our Kiah. He just adores and loves so well.

Ezra

  1. Ezra is four months old and weighs 17 pounds. Yes, my back does hurt.
  2. Ezra is the gift that I didn’t know I wanted/needed. He is so sweet and the biggest blessing. I cannot imagine life without him and I just soak him up every single day (something that I can’t say I truly did with either of my other kids)
  3. Ezra is starting to sit in his bumbo seat and LOVES watching his brother and sister. He wants to be in on the action so badly. I’ve started to have to nurse him away from the other two kids because he just can’t eat and pay attention to them at the same time!

So awesome that you found a school like that! I wish there was one in our area! I’m going to start homeschooling kindergarten this year and then see where we go from there.

I love your family update and I am so happy for you guys to hear about Kiah’s great progress! I’m sure you are exhausted! I often feel like changing my name about an hour into the day! Keep on keeping on! Also I’m really excited to hear more about this book!!!

I really enjoyed that. Tera will thrive with the combination of approaches. I remember when I was teaching, there were days when I thought if I heard “Miss Hall” one more time I was going to scream.

Maybe it’s a 3rd baby thing. Benj has been such a sweet joy in our family the last four years, even though I cried when I found out I was pregnant and did not think it was what our family needed at the time. I’ve heard a lot of moms say their 3rd was just wonderful and they just soaked in the sweetness. (I was the 3rd baby 😉 – so was Noah actually, tied for 3rd.)
