My baby boy is already 10 months old!!! It does not seem possible that we are just two short months away from his FIRST birthday!
I haven’t done an update in a few months, mostly because I also haven’t taken pictures in a few months! I’m so sorry, third child Ezra! I promise that my love is not accurately portrayed by the lack of monthly pictures I’ve taken of you!
Here is our Ezra John at 10 months…seriously 10 months of pure delight and joy!
Weight: Ezra weighs in at 23 pounds! He’s still in the 80% range, and his head circumference is in the 90% range. I’m interested to see if he is going to slim down when he starts walking.
Eating: Ezra is still exclusively breastfeeding for his main source of nourishment. This also marks the longest I have breastfed any baby! He is eating with us at the table for every meal and is really good at picking up his own food and feeding himself. He actually has never had a puree and has 100% refused to be fed by spoon. Works for me…so much less work! This morning Kiah was feeding him a pancake with a fork, but other than that, I’ve never seen him let anyone feed him!
Sleeping: I guess Ezra can’t be perfect, so this is one area of demise. He used to sleep through the night, but since May we haven’t had a glorious night’s sleep. He is usually up at least twice in the night to eat and sometimes it more than that. He does pretty great at naps, but since we have started a school schedule he takes a lot of his naps in the car. I feel terrible, but I guess such is the fate of a third child.
Personality: This kid, man. He is pure delight. He’s cuddly and sweet, but also holds his own in a wrestling match with his brother and sister (yes, this really happens). He is slightly mischievous but gets away with so much when he flashes his incredibly cute smile. I think that Ezra is going to be a go-getter because if he wants something, he goes after it. He already is fond of blazing his own trail and has decided how he wants to eat and when he wants to stand up and walk.
The entire family just ADORES him. Seriously…shout out to Kiah. He has NEVER ONCE reacted jealously to Ezra. He has only adored him since the second he laid eyes on him.
Loves:
- Ezra loves his siblings, especially wrestling with them
- Ezra loves snuggling
- Ezra loves bath time
- Ezra LOVES being outside. As soon as someone opens the sliding door, he makes a beeline for it
- Ezra loves pushing cars around
- Ezra loves chewing on the tiniest toys he can find laying around. Thankfully, he has two older siblings and parents who watch him like a hawk.
Dislikes:
- Ezra dislikes being put into his
carseat - Ezra dislikes being left in any type of childcare
- Ezra dislikes laying still for diaper changes
New Developments:
- Ezra has pretty much followed the typical developmental patterns. He crawled right around 6 months. But the very week he started to crawl, he also started to pull up on furniture. Soon after that, he started free standing. He hasn’t taken any steps yet, but I think it’s going to happen in the next few weeks.
- Ezra can sign “MORE”
- Ezra says “da-da” but I’m not sure he is really saying
Daddy - Ezra now has 1.75 bottom teeth! He’s actually my earliest teether of all the kids, believe it or not!
