Kindergarten Graduate

I cannot believe that my very first baby just finished up her Kindergarten year and is moving onto first grade.

WHAT A YEAR!

I’m always a bit nervous for my first born child…every step of the way I feel like I have NO IDEA what I am doing. She’s the first one to reach each milestone, and thankfully she is resilient, smart, independent, fun-loving and calm, cool and collected. Seriously- this kid stays calm even when Mama is freaking out. She got her Dad’s personality and I love to see it.

A little over a year ago, I thought for sure I would be homeschooling my children. Since Theo works the weekends, I just cannot fathom sending my kids to a 5 day a week school (while Theo is on his days off) and then having the kids home on the weekends while Theo is working. I didn’t absolutely love the idea of homeschooling full time, but I also knew that it was the best option for our family. Until I heard about a hybrid Christian school in our area. The more we learned about this school, the more we all fell in love. Tera attends school there 2 days a week, and I homeschool her for the remaining three days. I’m SO, SO thankful for the school, the community, and especially Tera’s Kindergarten teacher who led her through this first year of school.

Tera went through two moves (one very chaotic and stressful!), she went through the brief hospitalization of her little brother (which meant more chaos and stress), and now of course this global pandemic. Tera went to school for a normal day on Thursday and never got to say goodbye to her teacher or classmates. It makes me cry just thinking about it! And yet…she’s still my cool, calm and collected girl. I am SO PROUD of her and cannot believe that I have a Kindergarten graduate!!!
