Top 10 book blog posts are my absolute FAVORITE posts to read!!! I don’t know why…I think it just sums up the best of the best and tells me so much about a person and what their reading style is. I also enjoy writing my top ten blog posts and reviewing them from years past!
One thing that I noticed while I was curating this list was that most of my five star reads are non-fiction. If you check out my reading stats blog post, you can see that I actually read more fiction than non-fiction, but it turns out that when a non-fiction book really stands out to me, it REALLY stand out to me. I think that this is in part because with a five star, top notch read, I am most likely going to recommend it to others. I feel a lot more confident recommending a non-fiction book to someone because I can gauge whether or not they are in the target demographic. On the other hand, I have a hard time giving a fiction book five stars because I don’t know many fiction books that EVERYONE should read. But when I do find one, I am sure to give it 5 stars!
I was also overall a bit underwhelmed with my books this year. After perusing my lists from previous years, I felt like I easily compiled those top ten lists with books that STILL stick with me years later. Maybe this year I’ve just been in more of a bad mood so my reads haven’t felt as impactful, or maybe it’s the fact that it’s been stressful and overwhelming so my capacity to retain and be impacted by books is minimized. I don’t know! But what I do know is that there are some good books out there, and these are the ones that I read this year that I HIGHLY recommend.
Here are my top ten books from 2021:
XOXO
The Well-Watered Woman
Of Princes and Promises
House Lessons
Adventuring Together
Risen Motherhood
Fall and Rise: The Story of 9/11
Even Better Than Eden
The Recipe Club
A Fall of Marigolds
So there you have it! I would highly recommend any of these reads 🙂
