Postpartum and Newborn Favorites

Happy Friday!

What glorious weather we have had this week!

While my brain is in still in newborn mode, I thought I would round up some of my favorites- things that we got from our registry, and some things that people have done for us that has been SO helpful and amazing.

There is only a four year gap between Ezra and Orion and I’m amazing by all the things that have changed in those four years and how quickly/easily I have forgotten all things newborn.

  1. Pamper the first time Mom; love on the older children of a non first time Mom. Everyone is always so focused on the sweet little miracle of a newborn baby, but I’ve learned that there is nothing more special to a new Mom than someone who can enjoy the baby AND help with the needs of the Mom. As a first time Mom, I needed someone to notice ME and how hard I was working. Now, as a fourth time Mom, I really need people to notice and recognize that my big kids need attention and something to do since Mom and Dad are sleep deprived and so focused on meeting the needs of the baby. My friend bought the big kids some new coloring books and a fun bow and arrow set and that MADE OUR DAY. Because not only did they have something new to do, but they also felt noticed and loved.
  2. These burp clothes are amazing
  3. Meal trains are the biggest blessing. I wasn’t sure if we would get any meals since we are so new at our church, but people I don’t even know SHOWED UP and I’m so grateful.
  4. Wabbanub Paci’s will always be my favorite. Its easy to find them in the dark, the baby can grip it themselves once they reach that stage, and we can pick a cute animal!
  5. This bassinet looks nice and I love how it has no frills or bells and whistles. Just plain and simple.
  6. This diaper bag is so fun! We have certainly already gotten lots of use out of it!
  7. These nursing tank tops are super comfortable. I love layering with them so I can nurse using the two shirt method and not have to worry about my belly hanging out. I also was able to wear them while pregnant, so they got a lot of good use!
  8. This bouncy seat is almost always in use!
  9. Nipple shields forever and ever, amen.

What are some of your tips or favorite products for that postpartum/newborn stage?
