I’m finally doing it! I’m finally joining up with Fashion Files!
For about a week, I tried to take photos of my outfits everyday, but I can’t ever seem to remember! So instead I’m coming to you with a little recap of my latest Thrift haul, followed by a Buy Nothing clothing haul.
While my 3 big kids were at day camp, I popped into our local Goodwill and did a little browsing. I needed to get some shorts for Tera who has gone through a major growth spurt lately, and ended up looking through the dresses and skirts for myself. I actually found a couple things, and although I don’t love Goodwill prices anymore, I still think $5 or less for a clothing item is a pretty good deal 🙂
Here is what I got at Goodwill:
A blue dress- LOVE
Black Linen Overalls- LOVE LOVE
Pink dress- love it but it’s much more form fitting than I usually wear, so it will have to be for special occasions. I do love the ruffle sleeve!
Red, White and Blue Jumpsuit- that was a nope for me. It wasn’t flowy enough to be comfortable.
Yellow Floral skirt- LOVE it!

A couple days later someone posted a S/M clothing haul on our Buy Nothing group- it was about a 15 minute drive but it worked out perfectly that I could go pick it up pretty much as soon as she posted. I usually end up keeping about half of the stuff in a clothing haul. This particular haul was mostly winter clothes, which was almost unbearable to think about wearing- but I’ll be so glad in the winter when I have this whole new wardrobe that I got for free in July!
Item 1- some comfy sweats/joggers. I kept these, but only on a trial basis because they are kinda ugly. But doesn’t everyone need to have some ugly joggers/sweats on rotation?
Item 2- Stripey shirt with a cute detail on the back. I didn’t like the boxy fit so decided to pass it along
Item 3- Purple sweater. I really liked it, it had a scoop neck detail. I have a similar shirt in this color already, so this one stays on a trial basis as well.
Item 4- This t-shirt says “Let it Snow…Somewhere Else”. Lol. Seems like a shirt that I can wear in March when I’m mad that it’s still cold out.
Item 5- Forest Green shirt- I really liked this one for work, and it can also be worn with jeans for a nice look.
Item 6- Grey Cardigan. One can never have too many neutral cardigans in the winter in Ohio!
Item 7- Aztec THICK sweater- this will be so great for those COLD January days
Item 8- Another cardigan (see description for #6)
Item 9- Seriously the thickest and comfiest sweater I’ve ever put on. It’s like wearing a giant blanket. Keeper for sure!
Item 10- Heart Sweater- love this one and can’t wait to wear it in February!
Item 11- A purple t-shirt. It wasn’t very flattering on me, but I love the color and think it makes a great workout/homestead t-shirt.
Item 12- White Floral Sweater. LOVED the floral detail- it almost looks like embroidery? Felt kinda weird about the one flower in the armpit, but oh well!
Item 13- Cute lightweight lilac sweatshirt that says “let’s be wild” or something like that. I’ve actually worn this a couple times this week as it’s been chilly in the morning and evening!
Item 14- Marble workout leggings- this was a NOPE from me. I do not find these leggings flattering on me at all
Item 15- greenish gray shorts that fit perfectly- yes, please!

Ok, that was WAY too many pictures of me in front of my mirror! But I’ll take 15 FREE items and wear them for a season or two. If you aren’t a member of your local Buy Nothing group, this is your nudge to get on it and start giving away some of your unwanted household goods and enjoying other people’s unwanted household goods!
What items did you love?
Which items did I get rid of that you think I should’ve kept?
What would you wear from this haul?
