Ahhh, September! September? Is that you?

Haha it is actually 100 degrees outside today, which is kind of rare for Ohio in September. You will not hear any complaints from me, though! I LOVE hot weather and am always so, so sad to see summer go. So I am embracing this last week of hot weather, floating in the pool as much as I can, carting coolers of popsicles to all my kids sports practices, and wearing all my shorts and sundresses!

Now that we have discussed the weather, let’s chat about….life.

Ugh- the back to school routine is kicking my butt and I don’t understand why! I was all set up this year to have lots of free time as a stay at home Mom whose kids go to school two days a week. And somehow…I’m just as busy as ever! I ended up volunteering for a couple of things, and while they bring me great joy- it’s busy! I’m helping coach a sports team and also helping to get some school events running smoothly. Add animal chores and errands and just keeping up with the house and school pick-up, and I feel exhausted already!

I had a wonderful streak of blogging in August– I posted 3x a week, and spent a lot of time leaving comments on others blog posts. Then, in the last two weeks…I lost my streak and missed posting for several days and have completely dropped the ball on commenting! Yes, I know there is always seasons that are busier and it’s 100% ok to not be on top of blogging or commenting on other blogs. But I don’t understand WHY I’m not on top of it because I have so much more brain capacity since I’m not teaching. It’s a riddle that I just can’t figure out!

Speaking of commenting- I whined a couple months ago why no one else was commenting on my blog. Well, it turns out that people have been commenting on my blog- for months! And they were all in the trash folder. NOT the spam folder- the trash folder! Of course, the nice comments are all mixed up with a million actual trash comments, so I’ve been slowly sifting through comments and have made it all the way back to April of this year lol. Soooo…if you have been leaving comments and wondering why in the world I never acknowledged them,….that’s why. Also, fellow bloggers…check your spam/trash folders for legitimate comments.

Oh, and my running and exercise routine has also now gone by the wayside. I had just gotten to a place over the summer where I was working out 6 days a week and LOVING it. I could feel the change in my body and was loving it. And then school started and I just have to figure out a workout schedule that works around everything else. I’ve only run once this week and haven’t worked out at all. I’ve only fallen off the wagon for one week, though, so surely I can get it back?

But my kids running and exercise routines are on fire! I am now carting one kid to practice 3x a week and another kid to practice 2x a week- and they both had their first games/meet! I know I sound like I’m complaining, but I actually LOVE this stage of life. It’s a lot of driving and a a lot of hustling to get everyone to and fro- but the moment that I get to watch my kid score a goal, or run a sub 10 minute mile is AMAZING!

This week was chemo week for my Dad– it has a LOT of emotions. Trying to stay positive and upbeat for him, while also understanding that it’s miserable and it’s hard and we just don’t know the future. Also, as I was leaving the hospital from chemo I was about six inches from being t-boned by someone running a red light. It’s safe to say I was SHOOK. Life is precious and it can change in an instant.

That has been my week in a nutshell! What else is up with you guys?

I’m planning on popping back in tomorrow with an Amazon round-up- I haven’t done one of those in awhile! And then hopefully I can get some of my life back together and feel like I’ve eased into a routine, instead of being all chaotic and just falling off the wagon in every single area haha!

ntly watching, reading

You have a full life with all that your family is involved in and also the care for your parents. Set good boundaries up front and make choices for the BEST not just the Good. The Lord is your strength and your refuge.
