Hezekiah James is ONE!!!

I know, I know.

Hezekiah James cannot already be one.

That would be impossible.

….But our little man turned ONE on Saturday.

One whole year!!!!

I love birthdays and while I’m not a sentimental stuff person, I am SO sentimental about my babies.

It’s no secret around here that the infant stage is not my favorite, and so every time I hit a first birthday I breathe a sigh of relief. For me, it only gets easier from here.

We spent the weekend celebrating our King Kiah and I’m so grateful for the year we have had with him.

Weight: 20 pounds! From FTT to being in the 20%…I’m so proud of my boy!

Eating: This little man LOVES to eat! He eats all the table food that we have and then some. So far he doesn’t turn up his nose at much of anything! He isn’t the biggest fan of Cheerios anymore…probably because thats the primary food that we gave him for the first few months he was eating solids. Lol.

Sleeping: Oh, Kiah. Would you, could you please sleep? Kiah is NOT sleeping through the night anymore and is usually up at least once wanting a bottle. On top of that, he wakes up between 5:30-6:30 every morning without fail. Theo and I are both pretty exhausted. He does, however, take two solid naps during the day so you don’t hear any complaining from me about that!

Clothing/Diapers: We are still in cloth diapers and size 4 diapers the rest of the time. Kiah is in 9 month clothes and could probably fit into some 12 month if I really wanted to go down and pull them all out. Kiah’s twin cousins are about to pass him by in size (they are 6 months younger).

Personality: Out little chill guy is still pretty much as chill as ever, but he has for sure started to develop more of a temper and is expressing his desires more (like when Tera takes a toy from him). He is very laid back but still knows what he wants and goes after it. He is very go-with-the-flow and doesn’t give me grief for hauling him all over south eastern Ohio to all his sisters appointments and activities.

New Developments:

  • Says “Mama” “Dada” “Teta” “Uh-oh” (and possibly Heavenly’s name, but I can’t make out if that is what he is actually saying)
  • Stands unassisted briefly
  • Crusises furniture and can walk behind a walker/stroller
  • Can go up and down the stairs unassisted!
  • He loves to put blocks/lids/toys inside cans, boxes, containers or pots

Likes:

  • Being outside
  • His sisters
  • Bath Time
  • Climbing the Stairs
  • Playing with his blocks and toys

Dislikes:

  • Diaper Changes
  • Sitting Still
  • Not being held by Mommy
  • He has zero interest in having books read to him

What We Are Loving: We adore this kid. We all do. He is so smiley and snuggly and just all-around adorable. He brings us all so much joy.

What We Are Struggling With: This Mama’s Boy loves his Mama. And while that is flattering, it sometimes makes it difficult to get anything done. 10 times out of 10, he will crawl away from other people holding him or playing with him and come to Mama. He will cling to my legs until I pick him up. It can make it challenging, but I need to remind myself that this is a stage and one day he won’t want to be held my Mama all the time.
