Where You Can Find Me Lately

Hey friends!

I’ve been blogging more sporadically than I would like these past few weeks, but this pregnancy has been kicking my butt (not to mention keeping up with the other two!).

I had my blood drawn last week and got a call from my doctor that I’m pretty anemic and need to get my hemoglobin/iron up. It’s a little bit of a nightmare because taking an iron supplement makes me sick to my stomach. I feel like I can’t win! Any suggestions for me on getting my iron/hemoglobin levels up quickly without having to feel super sick from the iron supplements? Obviously, I know that diet is the most important factor here, but I know that can also take weeks/months to build up…and I am due in five weeks! So I’d happily take any suggestions!

I just wanted to share a few places that I’ve been around the internet lately, just in case you have missed it!

First up, I had the immense privilege of being interviewed on the Dayton Women in the Word podcast!!! You can listen to that podcast here, or on whatever device you listen to podcasts on. It was a really fun interview, as we did the first half in January and then came back to see what God had done in the previous six months. It was quite a lot of change, but it was cool to listen back to my January self and then hear my July self realize that God is the only ever unchanging one.

Next up, today I’m on the Dayton Mom’s Blog talking about being a TCK (a Third Culture Kid). I grew up in one culture, but my passport and birth certificate said I was a different culture. Somewhere in the middle, I formed a third culture that I could identify with. I am actually so surprised at how much response this post is getting, as I really though I was in the minority and most people wouldn’t care…but so many people are able to identify with it or encourage me in it! WOW! You can read that post by visiting it here.

The third place I’ve been around the inter webs is ANOTHER podcast- Hargraves Home and Hearth! What an immense privilege to share about feeling like a failure and how I am not enough as a Mom. I hope that I can encourage other mothers/women who are feeling similarly. You can find that podcast by going here and clicking on the link or by listening to it however you listen to your podcasts.

Enjoy!

You could try the gummy iron supplements to see if it helps with being sick to your stomach. The other thing that might help is to eat alot of red meat (steak, etc). Hope it helps!!’

I struggled with my iron too. I cut out dairy (it blocks the absorption of iron), ate foods rich in vitamins a and c and took moringa, black strap molasses, chlorophyll, and a prescription iron pill. Hope this helps, I’ll be praying for you!

Maybe try Floradix iron liquid supplement? Some people say that’s easier on the tummy. It’s been helpful for me in pregnancy. Maybe a combination of a couple things will help quickly. Getting plenty of vit. C in your diet helps too.
