This morning, I spent a couple of hours roaming the barns at Vintage Market Days of Dayton-Cincinnati as part of their influencer program! It was such a blast to be able to walk around and check out all of the booths and the AMAZING, INCREDIBLE vendors.
Seriously. I am always blown away by people who are creative. People who can make something beautiful out of nothing, or something beautiful out of something old, rusty and discarded.
I sometimes chuckle at the word influencer, because I often don’t feel like I fit the part. My house isn’t gorgeous, I don’t have a great sense of style, I feel like a mess half the time, and my following has remained stagnant for over two years. BUT! One thing I am passionate about it shopping small and supporting handmade businesses. And that is just want I want to do in this post. I want to share some of my favorite shops that I spotted at vintage market days!
Rustic Grains Wood
A family team who makes the most amazing handcrafted custom furniture and home goods. If you can only buy one thing from them, buy a CANDLE! These candles smell SO GOOD. I bought one last year it was by far my favorite candle. But, seriously, I love following this family on social media because they are so much more than a business!
Nature’s Lot
This shop is INCREDIBLE. They use dried plants to make all kinds of amazing arrangements. Their wreaths are just GORGEOUS. I am amazed at how they used dried plants but still pull in so many various colors.
Sunflower Seeds Press
As soon as I walked past this booth, author Ronda Friend snagged me. She has an exuberant personality and has turned her love of life into children’s books! Guys, these books are SO FUN! She has both picture books and some early reader chapter books. The books all have historical or emotional significance, and some of them are even based on her own life stories and the trouble she got into as a young girl and the life lessons she learned along the way.
Birch and Vine
The most gorgeous framed home decor pieces. These are so unique, I haven’t seen anything like them before. I love the patterns and textures that she uses and am so excited to follow along with Hannah on social media!
Victoria Nicole Art
The moment I saw this shop, I fell in love! I love how everything she makes is truly handmade– and beautiful!!! I had $50 to spend at VMD this morning, and *this* is the shop I chose to spend it at!
Farm Sweet Farm
Farm Sweet Farm had some amazing samples of their goat milk soap and lotion. I loved not only the smell, but also the feel of the lotion on my hands. I bought a bar of soap from this shop, too.
AB Underwood Co
I know that string art has been a thing for a while, but I’ve never seen string art like this! I LOVE the color and style of almost everything that they had at their booth!!
The Peaceful Porch
The Peaceful Porch is a candle company that has SO many amazing candle scents! I loved stopping by and hearing their story- what started as a terrible time dealing with cancer at a young age turned into two full time jobs and a family business. They now give 25% of their proceeds towards fighting cancer. Not only do their candles smell amazing, but the people who make the candles are even more amazing!
Chop Local
A husband and wife team that makes fantastic modern boho plant holders and home decor. Their stuff really appeals to me because of the clean lines and creativity! I also love that this is a Dayton local couple and I’m always happy to support a fellow first responder!
Hoosier Farmhouse
This shop had some really fun quotes made on huge pieces of wood. I loved how unique the quotes are and how big the signs are!
Fresh Home and Kitchen
I told Julie that her entire booth made me want to BE IN the kitchen! Everything is so bright, fun and beautiful!
The ABC Market
An entire shop about books?!? Book lovers candles? Book lovers shirts?? Books folded into fun messages? I ADORE this shop!!!!
Fawn and Bear Baby Boutique
Handmade baby and children’s clothes? Oh my! Everything made in this booth is just so cute!!
If you are local, there is still time to attend on Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are $10 at the door on Saturday and $5 on Sunday. The barns are not heated, but I found it warm enough inside to be comfortable in a sweatshirt and jeans with boots. Please remember that masks are mandated indoors in Ohio, so make sure to bring yours along!
