I have a short and sweet blog post today as we get back into the swing of things after our family reunion last week!
One of our bucket list items for the summer was a “blind taste test”. I’ve seen some really fun ones of these, but I was finally inspired by Polka Dotty Place doing a blind WATER taste test for her husband! I mean, how fun!!
Instead of water, I opted for something that I knew all the kids would be at least slightly excited about, and it was still friendly for my budget: pringles. Walmart had a LOT of Pringles varieties- I ended up buying 10, but there was even more on the shelf that I could have grabbed!
Instead of blindfolding everyone, I just put all the Pringles out on a tray and labeled a separate piece of paper with the answers. Some of the coloring on the Pringles made it a bit more obvious, but that’s ok- we were just doing it for fun anyways. If the stakes were higher, we could have added in a blindfold or something.
We had: sour cream and onion, Dill Pickle, Cheddar Cheese, Original, Pizza, Hot Fire, Cheddar and Sour Cream, Honey Mustard, Loaded Potato Skins, and BBQ
We each took the same kind of Pringle and tasted it, then tried to guess what it was. I will say: Theo guessed right almost every time! There were a few obscure ones like Loaded Potato Skins that he didn’t guess correct, but he did guess some of the ingredients like bacon!
This was SO FUN. Seriously- I highly recommend! The reaction when we got to Dill Pickle, spicy hot, and honey mustard were priceless!!!
We had so much fun that Kiah bagged up each kind and took them to his tutor the next day and gave her a blind taste test!
There are so many other ways to do a taste test:
- Oreos
- Water
- Chips
- Gatorade
- Different types of fast food fries
- Coke/Pepsi/Cherry Cola, etc.
- Honestly, the options are ENDLESS!
