Some years, I am ready for fall when it comes! Some years, I’m a little bit more reluctant to embrace it. This year is the latter for sure. I was not at all ready for summer to end! We are already almost one quarter done with this school year and I cannot believe how fast it is going!
I know I’ve said it one hundred thousand times on this blog, but I am not made for winter. Winter is a struggle time for me and the main reason I dislike fall is because I know winter is just one more step around the corner.
However, I want to go into this season with a positive attitude and enjoy it while it is happening. As a way to keep my motivated, I decided to do a little fall bucket list and post some quick reminders (to myself!) of how I can best embrace fall.

Fall Bucket List (October-November)
Read 12 books – embrace the fall/mystery/cozy vibe.
Decorate my house for fall (possibly have the kids do some crafts; pull in some nature from our property- do not spend much!)
Go for weekly hikes (our new Sunday tradition)
Day trip to Hocking Hills during peak leaf season
Pull out and organize all the cold season clothes
Go thrifting for some new clothing items/kids needs
Wrap up cross country and soccer season
Celebrate Kiah turning double digits!
Host a least one bonfire night with friends
Attend a Mom’s Night Out
Figure out my cold weather workout/running routine
Go on the school field trip to Fall Fest
Fill our craft fair with vendors
Finish one panel of my cross stitch hippo
Get my Dad and Mom through my Dad’s big surgery
Do two puzzles
Attend a street festival
Organize my TBR
Enjoy our first fire in the fireplace
Go for daily walks with the Cool Bloggers Walking Club
Sign up for a Turkey Trot
Enjoy Thanksgiving with my family
Well, there we have it! So much to look forward to! So much fun to be had. And Ohio isn’t skimping on the beauty this year!

I’d love to hear from you- what is on your fall bucket list? Any travels or events you are hoping to attend? Any goals that you want to accomplish?
I’ve shared this before, but I have this habit tracker and LOVE it for tracking goals/habits, etc. For example if I have a goal of “walking everyday in October” then I just write “walk” on the line and then color every day that I go for a walk! Or if I have a goal of sewing a whole panel by the end of November, I could break that down to a daily goal of “sewing for 10 minutes” and mark each time that I do that. It also includes a weekly habit tracker- so one of my goals is to go for a weekly hike and I can mark that on the side. And there are some monthly goals- for example, if I have a goal to send out birthday cards each month or take a meal to someone each month, or attend a Mom’s night out, I can include it in that section.
