2017 was a year of hard work and huge changes in our family.
As I think back to January of 2017 and compare it with where we are at now, there are only a few minor details that haven’t changed. Literally, everything except our God and our marriage has changed. Our cars have changed. Our family grew by one member. Our house underwent renovations to change our basement. Theo went through the academy and got a new job.
But God is faithful and He has not changed one bit. He is faithful, and we are thankful.
Here is the highlight roll of our year:
Celebrating Theo’s grandfather passing into eternity and taking a family trip to Florida!

Theo started at the police academy and we got to see our precious Abby (our first foster daughter) again!

March was a pretty tame month for us, but I’d say the highlight was getting to celebrate the upcoming arrival of our twin nephews, Levi and Everett!
Top March Post: Castaway Bay
In April we had a lot of family time, but the highlight of the month was driving to Northern New York and visiting my friend Joy and her kids!
May was hands down the most insane month of my entire life. This is the month that Heavenly came to live with us. I also turned 26 and we celebrated our 5th anniversary. It was kinda funny to gain a 10 year old daughter and a week later celebrate five years of marriage. HAHA.

We spent a lot of time outside in June! The highlight for me was going to a soccer game in Cincinnati. That was not the highlight for my kids but oh well haha.

Heavenly turned 11 and Theo broke the record for the 1.5 mile at the police academy! We also went to the Hines Family Reunion, which is always a highlight of the year!

In August, we had a visit from my parents, we celebrated Tera’s 3rd birthday, we went to the zoo, we went to Kings Island, we dedicated Kiah in church and Theo graduated from the police academy. PHEW. I think I might still be tired from August!

Theo hit the streets as an officer and we finally had a month with some REST involved.

In October, we dove into the AirBnB business, celebrated Kiah’s first birthday and took a fun family trip to Cincinnati!

In November, we enjoyed the last of the warm weather, celebrated Thanksgiving, I ran a half marathon and we hosted both my parents and my good friend Joy!

This hasn’t happened yet, but the moment we are most looking forward to in December is Theo having SIX DAYS OFF and getting to spend Christmas with my family!
